Best band on earth! I saw the Fellowship a week prior to this show and was moved beyond words. Everyone in this band is an extraordinary musician and a wonderful person. Their inner beauty as people really shines through in their music. Brian is one of the greatest musicians, regardless of instrument! Thank you so much for filming and posting this. Wish I could have been there!

Much appreciated uploader! Incredible talent... saw this group in Ottawa 2 years ago for the Jazz Fest. Blown away then, and affirmed now. Some of this material must be unreleased, haven't heard them on their CD's. Thanks again!

Musicians I used to listen to from Windham Hill label when I was young would be Michael Hedges, Mark Isham, Shadowfax, Alex De Grassi, Liz Story, Will Ackerman, George Winston, check wiki for more. Even more than just the musicians, it was the way the music was recorded/sounded. Very ambient, high quality omni mikes that picked up way more ambience than used to be present on other recordings. It's that ambience, or space between the notes, that most bands lack now, but the Fellowship remembers.

Please don't jump on me for this, I'm just curious. 1) Did you get permission from the band to record and post this? 2) Are they getting getting a cut of the advertisement money?
@phyuckyeu11 жыл бұрын
I don't mind you asking, I just checked my settings, I have Do Not Advertise checked, I don't understand why they are trying to monetize my ass without me. Terribly sorry, youtube is fucking shite now, between hounding me for my phone number and real name and fucking up my channel, makes me not want to post tons of cool shit I have just sitting there waiting :/
@phyuckyeu12 жыл бұрын
Michael Hedges became a legend (and left Windham Hill), RIP :/ Mark Isham went to work with David Sylvian and a shitload of other cool people. Was George Winston the Enya of the 80's? Sure. Could have been worse. Could have been Enya :) It was more how the label sounded, and how they recorded (with omni mikes away from the source), which is why I mentioned them.

Windham Hill tried to get that clean ambient ECM sound that Manfred Eicher and his various engineers innovated. Windham Hill artists were okay but nowhere in the level of ECM recording artists.
