Despite what Brian says I always liked that bridge. It's simple, yes, but I thought it was an Indian drone homage and very effective indeed for the times. Really, though, this song lives or dies on the quality of the drumming in it.

Original by The Groop, they won the Hoaldey's Battle of The Sounds with this in the early 60's, sounded a lot better than Brian too.

I think if you see the rest of the clips of Brian singing this you will see it is sung 'tongue in cheek'. 🤭 Brian was a member of the Groop and actually wrote the lyrics - he will tell you it's 'his finest work' - again with laughter in his voice. what a shame Brian rubbished the song.......as for the bridge..Emin to D....it's cool.....he uses very simple arpeggios which could and can be extended...if you choose.....great song.......driving bass...brilliant drums.....and so on...
