I went through the same exact thing in 2009 that this young man went through. Unless you have actually experienced being awakened out of a sound sleep, being attacked and having to fight for your own life while trying to protect your family, and then having to kill someone, you have no idea what happens to you mentally. I am truly sympathetic to this man. In my case, we were awakened at 3am to the sound of two men trying to kick in our door. My wife immediately called 911, and even though we lived about 5 miles from town, there were no available officers. Everything was heard and recorded while my wife was on the phone. At 330, the shooting took place but it was over an hour and a half before the first officers arrived. The two men who were involved had very long criminal records and were just released from prison. The one who died had 25 violent felony charges on his record. The other man had 19. It was a clear case of self defense so I wasn't charged with the killing, but it took 6mos for the investigation to come to that decision. But, the District Attorneys office tried to charge me with discharge of a firearm in a residence in close proximity to minor children. The District Attorney was known for being soft on crime and was voted out before the trial. The new District Attorney threw the case out, but the stress that we went through from the time of the shooting, until it was thrown out, was almost unbearable.

If he left the guy alone he could have eventually gotten up and tried to kill him. The intruder told him AFTER HE'D BEEN SHOT "Im going to kill you, im going to kill you" multiple times. Would be STUPID to risk your life or the life of your GF and kids because you let this guy get up and grab the gun on the counter....

@@andremessado7659 Yes, I am familiar with what the defendant claimed. Interesting he said none of that to police in the initial interview. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but we can't call any of those FACTS. And with his testimony saying the intruder was facing him when he shot is inconsistent with a gunshot wound to the back of the suspects head. I'm glad he got off considering the totality of the circumstances, but there are no facts to suggest he didn't see him lying there and decided to just finish him off, regardless of the reasons that brought him there.

Why were they prosecuting him? He should’ve been in hospital and treated in hospital before being questioned. He could’ve had a brain haemorrhage. This is so upsetting.

Why is Massachusetts so hell bent on prosecuting people who are innocent? Praise God that the jury got this right!!

This specific case is because they are anti 2nd amendment. The Karen Read case is because they love the police and assume they can not be a suspect in the death of a fellow officer.

I really hope he’s getting trauma counseling. He was the victim and never cared for or treated as such by the police or hospital. It breaks my heart for him.

I would never want to live in this state, I would absolutely leave. It is so frightening that you cannot legally protect yourself. Very scary.

This man was sleeping in his bed in his own house….I suppose the state thinks it’s okay for people to break into houses and choke sleeping people what a joke this is

I went there the other day to visit and it was in the back of my mind the whole time. This has really got to be hurting their income from visitors. Not a good look to make your state look so, corrupt. Who wants to visit somewhere where they prosecute people just for the hell of it?

Don't forget their little cop boot camp thing where they were molesting kids and the one guy killed his pregnant girlfriend the day his wife gave birth. Then there's the Karen Reed trial 🤦

Did you see, someone from MA said they were sure he'd have been tried even if it was only the first shot. They said the requirement to retreat within your own house is practically impossible to meet. Unbelievable.

What a disgrace!! This young man should have NEVER been charged! I was comforted to hear many lawyers on KZbin think judge should not even allow case to go to jury and also say that Brian should sue the State!!
@user-lx6qu9pw9vАй бұрын
What an amazing witness, clear, concise and unruffled ! Especially for a young man, after such a traumatic experience. So clear he is honest and has nothing to hide. I have questions about law enforcement links to the “victim” (🙄)., my bet is there is some.
@SarahBeckett100Ай бұрын
He was treated like a suspect instead of the victim. I believe the jury will be putting themselves in his shoes and thinking 'there but for the grace of God...' and he'll be found not guilty 🙏. Brian Camp deserved professional treatment from the emergency services who instead made a traumatic situation 10 times worse. After fighting off a maniac attacking him (in his own home with his little daughters upstairs) he gets sent by the 911 responder back into the crime scene that she knows has guns and a man who's been trying to kill him for the last 20 minutes?? He only shoots him the second time when he goes back in, just as the police are finally arriving. At 12:30am what was keeping them?? Then at the hospital - even suspects deserve to have pain relief. And then they charge him??? wtf?? I sincerely hope he gets significant financial compensation for their negligence. It won't help with the trauma - Christmas will never be the same for this family - but it'll help them get on with their lives.

Why is this poor guy on trial? Why are we paying for this trial?
@nanabananasings166724 күн бұрын
He was prosecuted because, after 911 insisted he go check on the injured intruder who was now on his feet, he then fired the second and fatal shot. This is a reminder to always ask for an attorney when being questioned, even when we are innocent as this man was. In the midst of the trauma and hours afterwards, we are in a state of shock and often cannot recall details correctly as the fear and adrenaline surge through us. Those missed details will be used by overzealous enforcement to paint an innocent victim as a liar and perpetrator.
