For about 12 weeks over twenty years ago i sat at a desk pretending to work for this man, but spent half the time weeping with laughter as a bloke called Colin and Brian Conley worked up the very jokes you hear here. HIs producer played deadpan - THE Nigel Lithgow - never laughed. It made it all the funnier. i'd get "Don't encourage him!" from Nigel. And Brian pointing at me, saying "HE thinks its funny!" ... And they paid me too! Old school humour done at a rate of knots. Lovely funny man Brian Conley: The King of Light Entertainment. Watch this right through and i DARE you NOT to laugh!

I must admit most of these jokes went over my head as a child, but I do remember laughing at it (because I was obviously young enough to understand what he was parodying). I also liked Septic Peg (a sendup of Mystic Meg) and also the use of a figure making fun of Mr Blobby who had a different name each time he used it (Mr Snobby, Mr Cabjobby, etc.) I can't picture most of these jokes being allowed to air on ITV nowadays and certainly not the BBC, but it was what we needed at the time.
