I was friends with Cozy Powell back in 1981 and he considered Brian the best drummer in rock and roll.

Great interview, great to see Brian and Matt speak so honestly. Any ‘Lizzy’ with Brian is going to be close as we’ll get to the proper Lizzy sound. Only Brian ‘gets’ the Lizzy sound accurately. A true legend 👍🇮🇪

With all the legacy bands to continue under the famous name I think this is refreshing to see. Brian Downey's Alive And Dangerous OR Nick Mason of Pink Floyd has a "similar band" called Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets. The core audience know what they are getting, it's a celebration of the original band and help younger/other musicians join the legacy in a natural way. Would love to see this band live!

No sound check?? That wouldn't happen in the Isle of Man...
@AndyCooper761 Жыл бұрын
It’s standard practice at multi-band festivals. The first band on stage does the line check, and gets a sound check of sorts - then every band afterwards gets a crash mix during their first song. By then, the guys mixing out front would only need minor tweaks. Even watching on YT, the band sounded fantastic!

@@AndyCooper761 Actually my comment was more of a joke in that Brian's uncle, Richie Downey, used to always say when something went wrong... "That wouldn't happen in the Isle of Man". Both Richie and his brother, Brian's father, used to drink in a pub I worked at in Kimmage just after I left school...
