Zinn said he had some Anarchist tendencies. He didn't believe in borders, for one thing. At the end of the day, labels don't really matter that much. We are all part of the class struggle.

Marxists also don't believe in border. They also don't believe in state having all power. They also want classless stateless moneyless society. Marxism is authoritarian is myth started due to deeds of ussr china and all of them who called them marxists. But that's not true. Difference between Marxism and anarchism is only in adapting ways to reach ideal. For anarchists revolution itself is decentralized from start with no leadership, because they argue that centralized revolution as proposed in Marxism would lead to dictatorship (they we're proved true as in USSR china etc) while in Marxism revolution is centralized because they think decentralized revolution lacks strength and power and hence it's easy to crush down for bourgeoisie (which also proved true both in commune and revolutionary Catalonia). So they think state should come in, centralize property and hand it down to proletariat. We have enough experience with both of these ways and saw where they lead us. So finally it's important now to stop being at extreme ends of these 2 ways ,stop debating and mix up ideas of both extremes to avoid such things

'Tell the truth'. Sounds like Howard Zinn did just that with great respect for objective History and what a terrific, detailed and inspired performance from Mr.Jones - and I don't even like one-man shows. Thanks.

Chomsky is a Libertarian Socialist, which is that wide range between and including Left-Marxism and Anarchism. Zinn described himself as "something of an anarchist, something of a socialist. Maybe a democratic socialist". He always had a fascination and affinity for Anarchism.

Great performance, but at certain moments Zinn seemingly portrays Marx as a pacifist.

you can be a pacifist and break capitalism by tearing down walls etc. a good book on the topic is "how nonviolence is misrepresented" by brian martin

Marx didn't denied possibility of peaceful transition. He only said that it's impossible at that time and it's desirable if we could move without violent revolution.
