@petrslivinski74815 жыл бұрын
@Tina Tika Ian Stewart was ousted by Oldham their new manager because Oldham felt that teens couldn't count past five. LOL! Supposedly, Brian Jones hired Oldham from what I read. Oldham struck a chord with Jagger and Richards as composers for the band. Again, supposedly, Brian Jones did write songs for the band but refused any credit for his work. Go figure! I definitely would grab for the credits because of the immense royalties that would be coming my way. Perhaps Jagger and Richards don't see it that way and possibly threatened him some way to not take any. Go figure! I wish I were a "fly" on the walls in the studio when they were hashing it all out. Cheers!

Whatever happened to Brian Jones, he'll be remembered into eternity as the creator and guiding spirit of the Rolling Stones. He was the Grand Master who taught Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, whom Brian recruited for the band he was forming, all they knew about blues and rhythm&blues. He made them listen to the music, and taught Richards the licks. They were great students (Brian Jones recognized talent) but if Brian Jones had not put that band together and taught them what to do, Mick Jagger would probably have ended up as gigolo in Soho. Keith Richards might have gotten gig with Spencer Davis or Brian Poole and the Tremolos--Richards was not and would never have been Yardbirds caliber. The 4 Grand Masters who laid foundations of the 60s Rock Revolution: John Lennon, Brian Jones, Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendrix.

Atomic Lobotomy .......regards The Spencer Davis Group, I’m not sure I ever saw Keith as “Steve Winwood calibre” either for that matter. Steve was all of 15 years old when he joined that group, then we had the brilliant Traffic years, the man has always oozed talent. I agree with your overall view though.

Here is a poem I wrote about Brian Jones. He founded the greatest rock & roll band in the world, his love of playing the blues set the precedent on which fame was hurled, on fashion he led the way, the star burned bright then sadly faded away, but the music lives on & the spirit of the times is never gone. written by Andrew Williams on the 11/8/2010.

I see what happened to Jones even before the end of this vid. Mick and Keith teamed up together and relegated Jones, who originated the group, to the backgroud with Wyman and Watts. A powerstruggle ensued. Sounds like Mick and Keith destroyed him.

Will Toffan ......exactly. I believe there was a small amount of alcohol (equivalent of 2 brandies) but no dope at all in Brian’s system. There’s *always* been more to Brian’s story than we’re led to believe. I’m no “conspiracy theorist” but have always believed Brian’s death was just a little *too* coincidental and convenient to others’ and I was a Stones fan at the time. I believe Tom Keylock called the shots resulting in Brian’s death - he certainly saw fit for Brian’s home to be cleaned out immediately following his death. All items of value (including Brian’s guitars) were stolen and his personal papers and writings burnt. Brian’s whole story has been altered to the point it’s difficult to know what’s fact these days but I’m old enough to know much has been completely changed to whatever best suits the band. Bill Wyman alone has remained true to Brian’s memory and surely he knows the truth.

Great musician Brian Jones was probably a victim of foul play- murder or he bumped his head in the swimming pool and never recovered. Or the dubious workers ( Frank Therogood )he hired to work on his home may have assaulted him because of jealousy and stealing Brian Jones's property and belongings. Brian Jones was going to fire him and this may have made him furious and crazy. It points to unusual occurrences the English police did not want to investigate or follow-up. A cover-up from the so-call English police authorities.

Brian was unhappy with the pop direction things were taking. Unfortunately, he became very depressed; and consequently, self-destructive behind it. However, I believe, in time, he would have gotten past it all; as soon as a band that was in concert with his goals and aspirations manifested itself. All this stuff about Brian being nothing but a pathetic, third class, good-for-nothing drunk and addict loser as a human being in general is a lot of rubbish. To this day, society FAILS to properly support people in their moments of need; and no one was there for Brian when he needed them most. I believe Brian was murdered by a guy who was patently jealous of Brian, and as time goes on, this only becomes more and more apparent. Brian was awesome; even on his bad hair days. @gimletsez6 жыл бұрын
Given that he died less than four weeks after his departure from the band, my understanding is that he never received a payment. But I´ve also read that the payment agreement was made by Jagger and Richards with Jones, and was not done through their business manager Allen Klein. When Klein heard of it (just prior to Brian's death) he freaked out, saying something to the effect of, "You agreed to pay this fucker 100,000 pounds per year to sit on his ass for the rest of his life?" Brian's demise apparently relieved the Stones organization of the burden. I have to research again where I read this; it's not in Keith's bio, or Wyman's first book ..., but it was a quote from one of them re: Klein's reaction.

LarryRickenbacker .........from all I’ve read over the years, no one saw any of the money, ever. When Brian died, everything fell into place just nicely for the other pair. I’m not insinuating they had any direct hand in Brian’s untimely demise but I’ve always believed his death suspect and things certainly worked out extremely well for them. I clearly recall the “Tongue” logo (that in itself has earned a fortune) was a painting owned by Brian that like his guitars and anything else of value was stolen or destroyed immediately following his death. I simply don’t believe much of what’s said or written these days, Jagger and Richards have completely altered the truth (downright lied) to the point that current talk is more “fantasy” than what really went down, I was a Stones fan at the time of Brian’s death. The fact that they continue to denigrate the man who set them in their path to fame and fortune is pathetic and I have lost any respect I might once have had for the band.

While I agree with you on some of your comments he simply didn't write the songs. Those definitely Jagger and Richards creations. That was the big problem, he simply became just another guitarist in the band and Jagger and Richards became the spotlight.

Rick Jones ........I think anything is possible given Jagger and Richards were never exactly generous when it came to sharing songwriting credit. I doubt we’ll ever know the truth about Brian, however Mick Taylor was promised a share of the credit for Time Waits For No One but as always, it came out a Jagger/Richards composition. Sister Morphine was (for the most part) written by Marianne Faithfull - something that was *finally* acknowledged in the ‘90’s (with Marianne being partially credited) but only after a legal battle, until then, they’d always taken the full credit for that one too.

what is that white instrument that Brian is playing at 0:24? God, it's killing me. I want to know so badly!!!!! I look up "instruments that Brain jones played" and it said the Tamboura but it turned out it was just a sitar. But it was also a lute impersanating instrument. so mabye it's an electric version of the tamboura. I know like who cares. Well I care!!!!!

The Beatles Wikia says he was kicked out of the band by Keith Richards. Is that true? I'll quote it here. Always thought he was still a full fledged band member at the time he died. Brian Jones was a member of the Rolling Stones. After he was forced out of the band by Keith Richards, he supposedly drowned in his own pool one evening but rumours have spread that he was murdered. He took part in the recording of Yellow Submarine where he produced the sound of clinking glasses and sang backing vocals. A "Brian Jones" played the saxophone on "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)", but although some sources claim him to be this Brian Jones, others dispute this claim
@lilmissrockchick49623 жыл бұрын
My goodness, poor Brian Jones, he didn't deserve any of this. I really don't find it fair he got fired from the band, but I think had Brian had some time off from the Stones to sort himself out, that would've been better. Of course he had his faults, but then again everyone does, nobody's perfect. Also, I don't at all want to put blame on Mick and Keith, because we shouldn't just jump ahead if we don't know the details. RIP Brian ❤ wish you were still with us, my dear

+Ray Pellerin Brian was sacrificed in a satanic ritual. everything changed for the stones afterwards(fame beyond belief and more money than they could spend in their lifetime. Brian was going to release an album and mick and keith did'nt want his music out there, it would have proven and exposed that Brian was the genius of the stones music and sound. keith once stated that he was not that good but that he received his talent because he was the lightning rod. look up Aleister Crowley the satanist, he used that same statement about how he received his power.
@bluesfan5828 жыл бұрын
+Ray Pellerin How arrogant you are. You cannot be kicked out of your own band. What Brian should have done was to kick out Mick and Keith. But they did a deal with him, whereby he agreed to let them continue using the Rolling Stones' name, which was HIS brand and intellectual property, not theirs, in return for him leaving the group himself and them paying him a fee of 200,000 pounds. For two weeks, Mick and Keith prevaricated, delaying the agreed payment, which preventd Brian from being able to pay Thorogood. Thorogood was a thug and had been cheating Brian, also his work was unsatisfactory, so when he started threatening to get heavy with Brian, Brian sacked him. Thorogood flew into a rage and lured Brian into the swimming pool. Two of them went in but only one came out. Accident? Thorogood was heard being extremely abusive and threatening shortly beforehand, which included making threats to kill. What always interests me about this situation is that as far as I know, Mick and Keith never did pay that 200,000 pounds to Brian, or his estate. Worked out well for them, didn't it? They managed to keep the Stones' name and personnel and record contract and touring deals, without ever having to pay Brian the agreed money. Mick and Keith were not directly implicated in Brian's death, but interestingly, the same builder (Thorogood) had worked for Keith shortly beforehand, where he had proved unsatisfactory, had double-billed Keith and when confronted about it by Keith, pulled a knife on him and threatened violence. Immediately after that, Keith recommended the same builder to Brian, knowing that Brian was going to pay for the building works out of money that he (Keith) and Mick were due to pay Brian but were holding back. Now I'm not going to point any direct fingers at Mick or Keith, but the situation did turn out very well for them in the end.

+StreetFightingMan1967 Keith Richards has criticized everybody -- including Mick, Mick Taylor (whom he outright didn't like), all of the Beatles (despite Beatles being big enthusiasts and helping them to get started)--Keith Richards has now adopted sort of a goofball role for himself, but he could and has been extremely nasty. I think I know what Brian Jones' problems were. Don't know why Keith Richards was bashing everybody.
@atomiclobotomy9448 жыл бұрын
Mick Jagger (who now regularly sings with Taylor Swift) and Keith Richards (who made total fool of himself in Pirates of the Caribbean) are not serious about their music anymore. They go along with the Rolling-In-It-Stones simply for the bucks. I used to call them a tribute band to the band (i.e. the real Rolling Stones, which no longer exist) that Brian Jones created--but they've become a total travesty. Jagger prances around like an idiot, with this huge leer on his face. Richards bends way over so that people don't see that he's only pretending to play. All totally disgusting.

Pure rubbish. Thorogood is innocent, just a fall guy that keylock decided should pay. Ask Gary Leeds. Brian hired mick and keith against the good advice of Alexis Korner and Ginger Baker. Brian was having the stones investigated. After all those years of work the stones were broke. Plus there was also the fact that Brian, who had repeatedly quit the stones dating back to 1965, which many of us witnessed backstage at RSG, had quit to form new band with Hendrix and Lennon. Also a number of us know for a fact that mick and allen klein were at Brian's house that night.
@ovalvox788810 жыл бұрын
Klein wasn't happy about giving Brian the 100,000 pound settlement. Mick and Keith were supposedly there earlier as well trying to convince Brian to turn the rights of the name Rolling Stones over to them as reported in the Daily Mail this past summer. Keith was even alleged to have pulled a knife on Brian. Two major motives right there. This was quoted to have happened from Frank Thorogoods daughter.

Leave it to some loser workman who was jealous to murder a one of a kind musician. Can we imagine what great songs Brian Jones would have come up with? Never. We can only hope Brian Jones had accepted The Lord so he went to Heaven.
@paulkate7210 жыл бұрын
A lot has been said about Brian, both here and in literature. Especially his relationship with the other Rolling Stones. It seems probable that like so many others who get involved in drugs, and especially if they become drug-dependant, there comes a time when nothing or no-one else matters - it's all about the drugs. It's no surprise Brian was so difficult then. A real shame. He was a truly charismatic bloke and massively talented. But how many other musical talents has that been said of. He's missed.

It's a tragedy whether it was accidental or foul play, for anyone to die. Brian was the one who wanted to be in a band, and when they took that away from him is horrible. He was working on getting something going then this drowning?? I think his talent brought them to their height of fame. It was very bad his band mates never came to his funeral. Could you imagine if the tables were flipped and someone else in the band died, he would of went to their funeral. The Rolling Stones would of really excelled in the Rock N Roll and R&B music.

Frank Thorogood killed hm? Frank Throgood is in Hell, burning forever. Brian was THE musical genius. Having said that ...if he was making fun of the workers and trying to put them down I can see how that could make Frank snap. Frank murdered him in a fit of rage and should have tried to revive him. But since he probably knew how hard he hit Jones in the head he knew there would be no reviving him. So he left him dead. Sad sad sad. man we all need to confess our sins before Jesus and ask for forgiveness. Then ask Jesus into our hearts as our Lord and Savior and confess we believe in our hearts that He is the Son of God and has risen from the dead. The Bible says we will be forgiven and have eternal life in Heaven. Do it now, while you have the opportunity, before you take another breath. Do it and you will be saved. You know God has allowed you to live up to this moment, that is how much He loves you. Now you have the opportunity. Remember how many dreadful and sinful things you have done and how somehow you are miraculously still alive..... Right? So God has saved you for this last chance man. The next breath is not assured or promised..................
