@@mercuri. I stand by my statement. It took a lot not to end my life & this song helped me to realize that there may be more left for me to do. I don't feel 100% & I know I never will but maybe, maybe I can help others like me. I still dread getting up & seeing a new day but not as much as before. I set goals for myself every day & that helps some. I just felt useless & hopeless but although I may still feel these things at times, it has gotten better. Thank you for reaching out to me & thank you for having such a huge heart. I started counseling last week. I still can't bring myself to talk about what happened & what I saw in Iraq but I hope that one day I can get that weight off my shoulders.

At 3:01, if you listen closely you can hear what sounds like an old computer monitor flickering. I'm pretty it's coming from his voice as tiny artifacts resonating in that mix range. BUT the intensity of your emotions. Your way of meaning every word you sing. Your ability to take everyone listening to the invisible plane you had entered. That's why the applause took longer than usual to begin. EVERYONE had to "return" from the dimension that you took them to. It also happened to Abraham Lincoln. First time I heard this I was just mesmerized by the haunting voice. In subsequent listenings I was able to also listen to the lyrics. What a great song. You are my inspiration. Back in 2016, I was taking lessons for singing. I loved singing, but it didn’t yet click. I was watching America’s Got Talent 2016. You were getting ready to perform. I never expected anything like this. You put so much emotion into the song, and it made it the most memorable performance I ever saw. I still remember you to this day for that. You have inspired me beyond anyone, to sing from my heart, and pull out what makes me sorrowful. So I’m practicing a song for a recital. This song. Brian, if you had auditioned for The Voice, you would have absolutely destroyed the entire season. Hands down, favorite vocal artist of the last 5 years. Every performance was not just a cover. Every performance was an artistic recreation of a piece of a music with an individual artist's unique stamp. Honestly, one of my top 5 favorite male vocalists of all time.
