I saw this match live and that day it was a treat, I remember it was cold and over cast but something told me that day to go and see the match, Lara wasn't btting all that well, it was Chander Paul who was at one satage ahead of Brian but Brian just went crazy. keep in mind he was smash these bowlers not in any power play or change of balls or free hits. Lara was something else. cricket back then was amazing.

@@snakedoctor2048don't make blunt jokes man...lara played 289 innings and scored 19 hundreds and 10k+ runs....sachin by 289 innings had 33 odi hundreds and 11k+ runs !!! Lara scored this by playing from his 21 years to 37 years, while sachin scored these playing from his 16 years to 32 years...if we look at sachin perfomance too from lara‘s debut age ( that is 21), he just took 120 innings from his 21 st birthday to add 19 century...that too scoring 5326 runs in the process! !!! When you compare with sachin, compare the age too ...from 20-38 years , sachin averged 59 in tests and 49 in ODI (at 90 st rate)...he has played some vulnerable years from 16-19 years and 39-40 years (that non of his competers haven't played),. Thus his stats seems to be much close to them...sachin was only behind them in terms of his mental strength...lara if he gets the rhythm and stays in crease for 50+ balls, he will gain confidence and after that will be unstoppable apeventually converting them into daddy hundreds...sachin , on other hand, was always seems to be in mental pressure and does not look confident even at 100*..that's why, even after being the most consistent batsmqn, he was never able to convert the satrts into big innings...lara has 23 150s in 63 international 100s while sachin has 24 in 100 international century
