Leetch is the most humble sports person in all of sports, the greatest rangers defenseman of all time and certainly top ten of all time!

Leetch is the Greatest American born player in NHL history. Modano doesn't have the hardware. Chelios has longevity but not much else. The only guy who can challenge Leetch is Patrick Kane, but he's a putrid human being.

Mode85 When Beukeboom became a Ranger nobody thought much of it. He was slow, awkward and playing little with the Oilers. You have to credit to Roger Nielsen for putting them together (and sticking with them) as they developed in a great pair. Brian was never better then playing with the Big Man. Oh , BTW, nobody touched Leetch with Beuk as his partner.

Of all of Brian Leetch's on-ice talents, his ability to hold the puck in the zone on the PP is most overlooked. His hand-eye coordination was uncanny. If you didn't go high enough up the glass on clearing attempts, Leetch would usually be in position at the left point to play the carom and glove it down. He truly was a treat to watch night in and night out.

Great observation such a subtle skill set but oh so important. It led to many pp goals. The wrist shot from the point was very effective usually on net or good chance for a deflection. The big slapper that goes off the high glass is useless.

@@rangersvhs3037 no disrespect for a great player. I was merely stating that when he dressed for Toronto, Game 6 vs Philly he wasn't able to hold the puck in the offensive zone (he was out of position). It led to a highlight-reel goal by JR, and cost Toronto the series. Toronto was outplaying, outhustling, outhitting, and momentum seemed to be on their side despite the 3-2 game advantage for Philly. I remember that game like it was yesterday. It's like a painful, festering wound that never heals leaving me with sleepless nights, pain & agony which sears my soul, and psychological impairment. On the flip side, I'm sure Philly fans recall the game with fondness and youthful exuberance. Such is sports. kzbin.info/www/bejne/haKooKR_nr10abc

@@dhennessey1970 I watched the video and didn't see what you saw. Where was Leetch "out of position"? There was nothing egregious at all there, JR just scored.
