Listened to the original on the way back from a friend's funeral, tragically young at 41. The song came on through shuffle and had to pull off the road as it brought me to tears. This is an incredible version and a great performance by Kerry Ellis. I have now watched several Queen songs which she has covered with Brian, and she does a fantastic interpretation of the songs, not trying to mimic Freddie, but carrying the essence of the song.

He had lost Freddie , his brother, and knew he was losing John, too. I’m sure he could feel it. Their lives together had come to a tragic end. But then along came Paul Rogers and then magical incredible Adam who would never replace Freddie but helped keep the SOUND and music of QUEEN alive. Adam is an incredible talent who showcases Freddie as his icon and he shows such incredible respect to Freddie’s legacy. God bless the Band and this song has such a powerful message. Thank you to Sir Bri for writing this treasure. 💖🕊️🌹

My mother has always told me I have a beautiful voice like Kelly. I have never heard of her before this, so I decided to look her up and I'm shocked. I'm not saying I have a good voice because I'd hate to be narcissistic but I can definitely see the similarities between our voices. I sang this song at my mother's wedding because she loves Queen (she's the reason I got into Queen) and she cried so much. She's so in love and it's beautiful. I also sang "love of my life" and "too much love will kill you" That was the best day of my life as well as my mothers.
@kathygraham53712 жыл бұрын
As Kerry was singing I kept thinking where is Brian? When he came walking out playing his guitar in the last verse I started to well up with tears. That was the verse he sang in the song. It was done beautifully with such feeling. Very well done!
I just now discovered this song and the tribute Brian and Roger paid to Freddie when they sang this song. This lady is a great singer, but I still love the video with Brian and Roger singing. You can feel the reality of the words and the underlying emotion behind them. THAT was sheer perfection.

Emana e diffonde gentilezza, equilibrio nelle parole, pacatezza, cordialita' ,, positivita'', Ho osservato che sia un grande uomo ancor prima di un musicista. I still don't get all you "fan" questioning Brian decisions like Queen was YOUR band. Freddie was a genius, no doubt, but without Brian...? He was AT LEAST 50% of Queen and song like this one prove that he is a Great musician. Therefore... if HE says she's good enough to let her sing Queen's song... Who are you to argue? Regarding her abilities, though, she's known as "The Lady of West End"; I don't recall successful Musical being sung by crap singers!
@absolutez3r0197 жыл бұрын
Davide Pastore I have to disagree. Brian was only 25% of Queen. All four members were so integral to their sound. But as to your comment on Kerry's singing, I also think she did a great job and has a lot of power to her voice. Though I find it lacks a bit of sadness for this song
@dav24037 жыл бұрын
I didn't mean to lessen the contribution of John and Roger to Queen's sound (they are for sure in the Olympus of musicians, in their respective fields) STILL, when I said that Brian was 50% of Queen my point was Freddie and Brian could have picked other two members and made "Queen" anyway and not the other way round. (just the same for John & Paul with the Beatles... or Mick and Keith with the Stones)
@Oh_I_Will6 жыл бұрын
Fred and Brian coulda, woulda, shoulda picked 2 other members to form another band..true...however, thank gawd they didn't. Rog and Deaky's contributions to Queen are obviously underestimated to you. Take all the music they contributed away from the entire catalog and what would be left..."what if" scenarios mean nothing at this point...two different band members could have gone a thousand different directions musically and we have no way of looking through a crystal ball to see "what if" it had happened...honestly, i like how it turned out for these 4 talented musicians..
