This is absolutely as good as the original, the different arrangement notwithstanding. It's equal in every regard because it's so beautifully played and sung. The performance, artistry, and emotional delivery are all world class. Both arrangements are perfect examples of how to make artful music that resonates on every level.

Well I'm only 57 years young and a good ear for music, I heard a snippet of Brian playing acoustic with Kerry over a month ago, enough to pre order Candlelight Concerts, It is brilliant, live, up front, pure voice of Kerry and Brian's guitar playing, they are well suited musically. Dust in the Wind is better than the original, and so is all the rest. really beautiful music, Thank You.

I am a profesional musician in Classical Music context (with formal training and all those stupid things) and I must to say that I feel very small in front of Mr. May. I am totally agree with you in all you wrote and I want to add that saying Brian May is a great rock or pop star or musician is just incorrect cos unfair. Brian May is a great musician in all senses of the word. Of course Kerry's voice is a treasure that She trains in impeccable way and uses with intelligence and elegance.

An amusing coincidence in Brian May covering Kansas’ “Dust in the Wind” May’s 2007 astrophysics PhD thesis is _A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud_ He literally wrote the book on dust in the stellar wind.

You cannot ever expect a cover to have the same passion as original thats un realistic others originally wrote the song this is a good cover and the comment that said Roger taylor and brian may only do sad songs don't know what that even means Kansas is one if the best bands ever queen were the best 70s had some great bands

+fred If one tried to compare both bands QUEEN and KANSAS on a quantifiable level (versatility, vocal range, craftman-ship (spectrum of accord jumps, lack of errors etc...), global fan count, etc...) it might look actually bleak for KANSAS. However depth, meaning, beauty and passion .... that remains in the eye of the beholder.

Of course Brian May is one of the greatest guitar players alive. And Kerry Ellis' voice is exquisite. But this version of the Kansas classic, though technically competent, is without any personality. It really lacks soul. Really disappointing.
