Wonderful to hear you were lucky to catch your heart problem on time and we will have you around ❤️ for many years to come. I wish more people would know there are a three stretches that solve Sciatica problems very easily😁 1.- look for a place where you have a handle bar to grab for balance. 2.-Stand with the foot and the hip of the side that hurts paralel against the wall. 3.- Place the other foot 🦶 -| perpendicular. 4.- Bend down and touch your toes with your hand. This will stretch the muscles all the way from your heel & up to your hip. Let me forewarn you...It is VERY PAINFUL. You will feel as if your eyes are popping out.🤪 Three days in a row. Stretch No. 2 Stand in front of a chair. Bend your waist to put your forearms flat on the seat. Wiggle your hips. Move from left to right slowly . Do this for one minute Stretch No. 3 Lay down in your bed Bend your knees and pull with your hands towards your chest as much as you can. Hold for one minute. Do this stretches three times per day (morning noon and evening). That's it, simple!🌝 No more pain! Please do this. Was taught by a Frenchn ballet 🩰 dancer. Will be forever thankful. .

Sadly the affects that pain has on the mind is hardly ever discussed in the doctors office. It can lead to emotional agony that is worse than the physical pain itself. I know I have been under duress of such pain in the past. Mouth and tooth pain I cannot tolerate, or foot pain i.e. ingrown toenails EEEK! I have been in pain to the point where Shock was beginning to set in and that’s no fun. It’s best to seek out an understanding provider, mine happens to specialize in mental health as well as Allopathy which is a plus. I hope you’re doing better and btw thank you for all that you have been doing since the Covid hit the scene. You’ve been a tremendous help to thousands of people and I thank you for it. Cheers

Brian, being that I'm a cardiac nurse by profession, I'm so thankful that you were treated rapidly and skillfully. I remember when we use to have to prep patients for cardiac cath, or angiogram as you say, by shaving the groin for wire insertion. Prior to changing to radial angiogram, patients use to have to lay flat for hours following the procedure, and it was excruciatingly painful, especially for the patients with lumbar spine and sciatic nerve issues. Bless your heart, literally, I'm so glad you made the choice to have stents placed. I understand that you're a very fit man, however, sometimes genetics can play a part in arterial plaque/high cholesterol. It's just like everything in life, even though a person thinks they're doing everything right, sometimes all can go wrong. You've made it, you're aware of it, and you'll live on to make great music, just remember, stress causes high cholesterol too, so relax lol. Oh, and if you ever need a great cardiac nurse, I'm willing to travel, and I have great references lol. Stay safe and healthy, and let the beat ♥️ go on. RIP Freddie 💛💜💛💜💛

Brian, I cannot tell you how happy I am to hear that you are on the mend. I am a guitar player today because of you and the inspiration you brought to my life back in the 70's seeing you play at the Forum in Los Angeles every time you guys were in town. Beyond that, this is all quite uncanny. Last year in the midst of suffering from an L5 S1 disk rupture after. years of Motocross Racing,, I had what they call a "widow maker" heart attack. Rushed by my amazing wife to the hospital where they took me down to the Cath room. The doctor leaned in and said to me, "I'm going to save your life tonight", And he did. What an eye opening time that was. It really does cause you to take stock of everything you've been taking for granted and the excesses in your life that are perhaps just that...excesses. Be well, Brian. You've brought a lot of joy to a lot of people. Now, keep some for yourself.

Brian, I'm a physician . You CAN evaluate the coronary arteries without a catheterization. Although a cath is the gold standard. But you can evaluate how your coronaries are by repeat nuclear stress testing periodically. We do cardiac evaluations on 50 plus year olds in the US routinely as part of a WELLNESS check. I'm glad you are better Maybe we can talk medicine, music or astrophysics some time. They all interest me.

I had 4 stents installed years ago, 3 through the groin into the right side following a heart attack, one through the wrist in the left side. I can't believe they are still doing bypasses when they have the ability to do stents. I figure those heart doctors who do the bypasses aren't getting many and they still have a yacht to pay off so that's why they are pushing people to have them done. Good luck, I hope all goes well.

Hi Brian, I am really glad that you made it out of the hospital the best possible way, given the circumstances! Thank you for caring for us and giving us updates! Wish you speedy and complete recovery! I have been a fan of yours since 1990 when I was twelve and heard I Want It All for the first time on the radio... I remember thinking “Wow, this is the best music I have ever heard! Queen is my favorite band from now on!” I haven’t heard a better band to this day... The other day I stumbled upon a recording of yours that I had never heard - it was Purple Haze by Jimmy Hendrix! I believe Tim Staffel was on the vocals, but I may be mistaken. Now, you are my favorite guitarist, but I just never heard you play anything from Jimmy Hendrix and wasn’t sure what to expect as his style is pretty unique... I know he is your favorite (and Freddie’s) rock legend, but I just wasn’t sure how it would be. I didn’t doubt you, I was just curious. Well, when the recording started, I wasn’t sure if that was really you playing or Jimmy Hendrix! It sounded so authentic and precise, and most importantly, it was very pleasant to the ear! I listened with great satisfaction and couldn’t wait to discuss it with my friends who love rock music! Now, you are twice as much my favorite guitar player! I know that it is a long shot, but I would love to hear you play some more songs of Jimmy Hendrix. Maybe some Vodoo Child? Even small portion of it... Either way, I send you all the best wishes I have always wanted to send you and the rest of Queen, my favorite band forever! I never managed to meet any of you, but I was lucky enough to see you play live with Adam Lambert. I will see Freddie on the other side when that moment comes. Rock on! Your biggest fan for life!

I had back surgery due to a compressed disc and unfortunately the surgery failed so I now have severe back pain I have to manage with medication. 4 years after my back, I had a heart attack as well. 5 bypasses later, I seem to be ok. That was 8 years ago. I was very surprised because I thought I was pretty healthy. It just goes to show, you just never know. I'm glad everything turned out for you! This world needs Brian May in it for many many more years to come!!

❤️ Glad to hear & see that you seem to be 'doing alright' now, Brian. I was "pissed off" too (on your behalf) when I saw the media and some of your so-called "fans" making "jokes" about your situation. It's why we should always try to call-out these people, those "stans" who claim to be your fans but show their true nature & intentions when they make those types of "jokes". They're Not "jokes" as they try to claim, it's actually a "lowkey dig at you disguised as jokes". I hope you haven't seen the "cheating jokes" those people made/keep making, about you. How strange it is that if you were on tour right now, you probably wouldn't want to let people down and would've probably ignored the signs from your body until it was too late. Perhaps someone was looking out for you, after all... 🙏 😇

We are so thankful you escaped this harrowing episode, Dr. May. So this pandemic was actually a blessing in disguise -- you could be in the middle of the BoRhap EU tour (for which I have a ticket) and suffered this. Meanwhile, we are just happy you are now well and we had micro-concerts in the interim during the lockdown. Stay safe and stay healthy!

Thank goodness you listened to your body! My daughter experienced chest pains so attended A & E where she was diagnosed and treated for angina. She continued driving herself and three children to a family party whilst experiencing all the classic symptoms despite medication, she spent the whole of the afternoon at the party feeling progressively worse so left and drove home. Still ignoring the signs she got the children to bed etc. In the early hours of the next morning she was rushed into hospital where they operated to insert a stent. All credit to you for posting this, hopefully it will alert people to seek help sooner rather than ending up in a crisis situation. If my daughter had seen a message such as yours I think she would have been much quicker off the mark. She was only 40 years of age but thankfully recovered well.

Amazing that you have such a wonderful doctor and that he acted so fast and humanely! And kudos to the hospital staff for not just doing a procedure but giving you the information you needed to make a decision. I dislike pain meds as well and will stay away from them as much as I can. But there are a few things that make them almost inevitable and the pain you describe is one of them. Luckily I have an excellent physio/chiro for this and his group makes all the difference. The worst thing for me is that it takes about 4 days for the affects to wear off from the pain meds. I am so glad you found the issues and have found resolutions to them! Thank you for sharing this story with all of us! And thank you for sharing your music with us! It is so much fun to jam to!

Wow! I'm so glad you've come out of all this so well! I think you're a very lucky man and as a wife and a daughter I also feel very happy for Anita, your children, your whole family and close friends. Keep checking that spine. I know about that pain since I had to have a lumbar laminectomy in 2003. My surgeon told my husband he wasn't sure if I would walk again because my nerve was as flat as a fetuccine. It should have looked like a spaguetti instead. When I woke up in the recovery room, he was next to me and he made me move my toes, and they did. He was quite pleased. There was another complication during the surgery. My dura was slightly lacerated and that kept me in bed for a whole month. I'm not ok because a few years later a distonia started in my left foot and it stays with me when I'm awake. I had botox injections and that didn't work. I also had a fall two years ago and I have a fractured vertebrae which will keep bothering me because I can't afford to have it fixed. Enough about my spine. You think, everybody about our age (I'm almost 64), should have an angiogram. I agree. Everybody should also have a colonoscopy. But most of us can't afford those tests. I'm not British but I've always thought that if people reincarnate I was probaly English in my last life. The British had a wonderful health service which is slowly getting worse and worse, and that infuriates me. I shouldn't be telling you this since you've just come out of a heart attack. But the British should fight for the NHS, for their nurses and doctors, for their hospitals. Coming out the way you just did, should help all the people who have paid for excellent health services out of their monthly paycheck and who are watching those services crumble. Thank you for being so honest and congratulations for getting back in shape.

Seriously, the NHS is nowhere near as bad as you’ve read. And it has increasingly absurd amounts of money spent on it every year so how it has to “cut” services is beyond me. Then again, our government allows 600k new people a year to live in our tiny country and then wonders why our services are flooded.

When I read "Dr. Brian May had a heart attack", I think I literally stopped breathing for a moment. What a scare! Please make sure Roger gets checked out soon too! - Living with moderate to severe pain. I've had Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 18 [58 now]. It mainly affects my fingers and toes but I've also got weird, as in not usual, joint involvement. My sacroiliac joints are very involved. Up to about 15 years ago, medical science deemed these joints to be not 'real' joints but then they learned that they are. They do have and are subject to synovial involvement. As you've no doubt learned recently, sciatic nerve pain terminating from this area is a real thing. It's a snowball effect including Fibromyalgia "knots". - The joints get inflamed so the muscles surrounding the joints move to protect the painful area. Which leads to fatigue and knot build up in the muscles. Then the muscles surrounding the first muscles get in the act to protect the first set of muscles and outward the ripples go. - Soon enough, if you're not vigilant with physio everything between the waistline to the knees can seize up and the pain is indescribable. - I've yet to find the words to adequately describe the pain. The closest I've come is to do some mixed media art that has a nucleus that looks like a glowing ember in a fire with ripples of ever greater pain surrounding it. Lots of texture paste ripple build-up and lots of dark reds and oranges lessening to a deep yellow. By the time we work out to a nice sun-glow yellow, the pain is tolerable. - I live with daily pain as manageable between 5 and 6 out of 10. When it escalates to 8, I'm in bed listening to the TV or music for distraction. The days that the pain is 9 or 10 I'm literally out of my mind. - Glad you're back. You'll never know how much you mean to people. When I'm in my down periods, I default to Queen music. Hubby has walked into my room, heard Queen and remarked "Having a bad day are we?". One thing I do a lot is to concentrate very hard to see if I can pick out the individual voices when Freddie or Adam aren't singing. That is how I get through some of my worst pain, listening for you or Roger singing. LOL

I can so relate. I fell to the floor writhing in pain 8 years ago. It took a month ( in a wheelchair) crying, before a physician's assistant said, "Let's X-ray your back. My thoughts - what a waste! The pain isn't in my back! Well, a compressed sciatica! Pain was, as you said, excruciating and unbearable! Physical therapy and meds and I'm back to my "normal" 73 year old self! Glad you were in a place where all your problems could be solved! Here's to many more! Years, not pain! 😊

I know your pain Brian. Sciatica is so debilitating. Great to see you in good shape once again. We're grateful to have such a kind soul in the world. God bless to you too :)
@TheseusTitan4 жыл бұрын
My opinion: If you take vitamin C four times a day (because it only stays in your body for about 3 to 3.5 hours) it will reduce the inflammation. I had inflamed the disc in my lumbar and it felt like lightning bolts were shooting around my hips. The disc bulged and hit the sciatic nerve and I had pain all the way down to the arch of my foot. Vitamin C was the main thing that made it better. I used a cold pack as well. It is amazing what a difference vitamin C made for me. I hope it can help you too.
