We need a New Brian May Solo Album. Please :)
@kurtmorr6 жыл бұрын
actually we need a Queen album with Brian and Roger taking the reigns and doing all the composing and lead singing and anyone else they bring in maybe to replace john on bass and a keyboard player who could sing background on choruses. A whole album with songs like 'No One But You', 'Driven By You' etc..
@CaptainCardsworth5 жыл бұрын
@@kurtmorr Brian and Roger are both competent piano/keyboard players and Brian has done the bass parts for some of his solo work as well as sharing bass duties with Paul Rodgers for the "Cosmos Rocks" album. So I'd say that between the two of them Brian and Roger could put together an album all by themselves. Only hiccup might be harmony vocals but they can do wonders in the studio with layering/multi-tracking (the opening "is this the real life" part of Bohemian Rhapsody is just Freddie by himself layered over and over). I'd pre-order it right now if they announced it was happening.
@kurtmorr5 жыл бұрын
@@CaptainCardsworth well my point is if they decide to do another album under the Queen label, Brian and Roger need to take the reins and IF they feel the need to bring someone else in it should only to be in the background. I combined their best material of their 1998 solo albums and included 'No one but you' and made an excellent Queen album.

I listened to Resurrection, an excellent song for composition, arrangements, voice and that nostalgic taste of rock, even if with a great touch of new mastery. I loved Queen so much, no one excluded, but in Brian May the spirit of their music echoes. I don't want to make comparisons but his "Science of Sounds" sometimes reappears with his great rock music, in his "solos", taking up the harmony that he has always been able to insert and that I recognize even with my eyes closed. He and his "unique instrument" transport the listener to the dimension in which he plays... a dimension of the universe. Thanks Brian May above all for existing...💖

What a wild ride! This is a pretty rockin' song! Can't believe I missed this when it first came out. And Brian, you really are a great vocalist! You can EASILY carry a lead vocal. I am so glad to be re-discovering Queen and Brian May. Let me explain... I'm an older rocker who was first exposed to queen with their cool song, "Keep yourself Alive". But then I kind of got away from them for a bit as I chased the "new wave" bus first and later the "hair metal" train, and then on to today's rock. But with the new movie, "Bohemian Rhapsody", which I was completely enthralled by, I have a newfound love and respect for the band and its musicians. I realize today how talented each of its members really was. I know I am not alone in re-connecting with this awesome British band. Brian, I love the emotion that comes out in your guitar playing. And from everything I've read and watched about you, you really are a gentleman and kind person. Thank you (and Roger) for being such good friends to Freddie, and for re-telling the story of Queen with this great new movie! I understand you and Roger were on hand to make the movie more accurate for us. Again, I am amazed and thankful for the band Queen and each of its gifted members! Rock on, Brian!!! (BTW... I can't wait to try out one of your signature guitars. Love that sweet tone!!! You and your dad are geniuses!)

I would prefer Brian singing Queen than Adam Lambert any day and really hope that they will not make an album with Adam but if they make an album it will be Brian and Roger singing. Sorry, a lot of people like Adam with Queen, I do not :( There can be only Freddie or Brian or Roger singing but if it had to be someone, the only one I have ever loved singing Queen is the Finnish musician J. Ahola (Jarkko Ahola ) . He is the only one who does justice and does not try and sound like Freddie yes, pays homage and stays true to the song
@2039marl7 жыл бұрын
May and Taylor have noted in interviews that Lambert, with his extraordinary voice, is one of the few who can do justice to Queen's difficult songs - and that, in addition, is not a mimic - never tries to sound like FM, but is a unique and brilliant performer in his own right. (Might ask, have you been to a QAL concert? I have and it's truly a stunner - just look at the audience reactions on YT.) Might recommend AL's performances of "Save Me" or "I Was Born to Love You" at Summer Sonic. Or anything from the recent NA 26-concert tour. Heading to Europe in November and Down Under in February. Doubt there will ever be a QAL album - perhaps more like May's guitar work on AL's recent album, "The Original High," where he contributes to "Lucy." At any rate, it's a collab made in music heaven - Queen would not be touring at sold-out arenas once again (as May has said) without AL. Bringing these songs alive again for both new and old audiences is a remarkable experience. P.S. Love Brian's solo work - think it's underappreciated - such a great songwriters, as well -

This has got to be Brian's greatest solo work ever! I have to say as hard if not harder than anything put together by Queen yet it still retained that Queen sound we all know and love. Too bad about Cozy Powell however, he was an amazing percussion machine! I could only imagine the music Brian could have made in the future if Cozy were still around. He breathed a lot of new life into Brian and got him motivated to get out there and play his heart out despite trying to get over the loss of Freddie. On a lighter note, the song Last Horizon was the most "beautiful" song composed by Brian or any other guitarist for that matter. It really stirs a lot of out of it's listeners. That's why Brian and Queen will always be so unique and amazing. They can play the hardest rock or the most heartfelt ballads and or instrumentals. I remember playing Last Horizon for some friends at work when it first came out and they said "wow that's awesome. Is that new Pink Floyd"? I really had to laugh. Of course I live in America where all most people know about Queen is We Will Rock You and Bo Rhap. I suppose I'm an oddball and have always preferred brit or euro rock to the same old garbage shoved down out throats in American radio but still I could not believe most American's ignorance by not recognizing Brian's amazingly unique sound. Just mind boggling! Also, not to be overlooked in how amazingly improved Brian's vocals were on this CD compared to the past. He really proved himself as a true front man as well as the amazing guitarist he's always been.

Brian May - who..? RIP Cozy Powell - Brian was in awe of you and was honoured that you agreed to play drums on this track...
@markbro44273 жыл бұрын
Wrong.....it was on Cozy's solo album The Drums Are Back as an instrumental called Ride To Win with Brian on guitar.....it only became Resurrection later on the same year.

To me Doc... yes, you are my singing guitar hero . I can't forget my first impression hearing you in your "solo works". I heared you singing with Queen chorus or songs "a solo" like "Sail Away Sweet Sister", "Leaving Home..." , "She makes Me... (BUF ! , how can I adore all that songs yours) , always in a lyricalli and sssweetest possible way... and suddenly ! : "Resurrection", "Bussisnes" (I love this one) ... you know... and I thought : WOW !! , He sing from guts... !!!! I have to say that I love this dual mood quality in a person . I don't like simplicity...

OMG! The tapping...
@ilir966 жыл бұрын
Fun fact, he's actually one of the very first ones to have used the tapping technique. The man is a genius, shame that he's barely remembered for his short solo in Bohemian Rhapsody... Which is amazing, don't get me wrong! But he has also been such an innovative guitar player and overall great musician, it's really a shame that people forget about these things. But after all, when you play guitar in a band whose singer is Freddie Mercury, it's not that easy to get noticed lol So shout out to Brian, who still made a difference!

Cheesiest video ever, but DAMN, what a powerful song.
@mirmarq4296 жыл бұрын
I thought the video was perfect. Not too random (like Princes Of The Universe) or concert-y (like pretty much anything by Queen). The colors matched the emotional feel and the shapes were amusing. If this is not enough for a music video to be, what is?
