Brian May reveals he suffered a stroke in video message to fans

Queen rocker Brian May has revealed that he was rushed to hospital after suffering a minor stroke and temporarily losing control of his left arm.
The British musician, 77, shared the health update with fans in a video posted to his website as he addressed the events of the past week.
May referred to a “little health hiccup” that saw him rushed to hospital in an ambulance: “The good news is I can play guitar,” he said.

I still do contemporary dance a bit of ballet and bit of yoga/ stretching……where we live our government - more accurately we end up when we file our taxes cover our hospital care and major Drs care. 😊

It just goes to show, this can happen to anyone, as Brian May is very strict when it comes to diet, he drinks Wine (which thins the blood), he doesn't smoke etc etc. I'm glad that he is recovering.

Yes, he's a healthy guy. Keep in mind, though, that moderate drinking does not protect against stroke but instead appears to increase the risk compared with no drinking. This was reported in the Lancet about five years ago. The previous studies hadn't taken into account the correlation between moderate drinking and overall moderation. So no alcohol intake would actually be optimal.

Buddy, i know you. I've played guitar and bass since 1963. I've had two strokes and survived. You can too. I still play guitar but not much with amps any more due to hearing loss. I still enjoy playing. Hang in there and take care of yourself. Take your meds and slow down. You can do it !! You're a great guitarist.

Years ago when I first started practicing the art of daily brisk walking I felt “the flutter”. It scared me enough that I took low dose aspirin until the bottle ran out but I never stopped walking. Best of luck and get well soon Brian May!

I'm the same age as Brian, and had a similar incident nine years ago. Feel fine now. Pasteur had a stroke quite young, but carried on working and developed the vaccine against rabies, among other things. Handel had a stroke - stopped gigging, but wrote The Messiah.

I suffered a major stroke 7 years ago, likely caused by smoking. Hit me really hard, but after much therapy, l’m doing real good. Even a minor stroke is a big deal, but with your attitude Brian, and the grace of God, you are going to put this behind you and be just fine. Regards!
