Scientist Brian Miller answers questions regarding the intriguing story of how biology is beginning to adopt more design-based models in its research.
Dr. Miller is Research Coordinator at Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Duke University. More about him and the articles he has written can be found here: www.discovery....

Hopefully the collaboration between engineers and biologists will in time facilitate retirement of the tired, haggard materialistic paradigm. Thank you, Dr. Miller - this Q and A is informative.

2 nice concepts I heard in this discussion, the first is that the laws of nature are simple for us to understands and deal with, so we can do science. And these laws are incapable of creating complex biological systems. The second, a designer must have intervened very frequently in the process of creation and Engineers can predict where would be gaps in the fossil record. Thank you very much very much for this fruitful discussion, thank also for bringing the issue of wisdom when dealing with earth and demand from us to be aware of the systematic destruction of the planet earth that humans are doing currently and try do something about it. Extremely cogent and thoughtful answers. His last few statements were actually "artistic" in how humans are supposed to use science and the Bible to transform nature and each of us, and to BENEFIT others from our research, not exploit them. I don't think that Brian Miller anticipated that his words were more like poetry than science. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

Notice theres are gaps btw the layers...NEVER Transitions...fm one ....Kind into a complelely... New KIND...So regardless of what layer ya find a trilobite....they are always Trilobites...Clams....always Clams...not 1/2 a Clam....& 1/2 something else..becoming something other than a...Clam...

yes, 'pre-programmed resposes' in bacteria = feed-forward mechanisms, more efficient than feedback systems and much more elegant engineered solutions, so better examples of ID in bacteria. At 14:00 - 'did God enlist the angels to help in Creation, thus explaining the defects we see in the natural order [my paraphrase]?'. Yes, that is Robert Broom's thesis, a twentieth century South African paleontologist and medical doctor.

I am curious as to why one twin will develop Alzheimer disease and the identical sibling does not. I have heard scientists explain that the genetic make-up has changed. Edit: I think it implies the importance of lifestyle and environment.

Engineers r looking @ biology to do Engineering better...but if life is still " Evolving..." as Evol' boys clain... the biology wouldn't be complete enough to build better Engineering fm...the complete parts wouldn't be in existence for ...millions of yrs yet...
