Musical chairs haunted me through my childhood because of a bad experience with it when I was like four. Before that I had quickly deduced how unfair this game could be and had all sorts of ways to give myself an advantage without actually breaking the rules. So we were playing it one day in preschool and it was some kid's birthday. In the final round with only one chair it was just me and that kid. When the music stopped I got the chair before he did, but then the teachers said "No, it's his birthday, let's try that again!" They then proceeded to make us do it again and stopped the music when he was right in front of the chair - so they rigged it for him to win. Then they showered him with praise and completely ignored me for the rest of the day. Looking back on it now I just laugh cause it's such a stupid kiddie problem, but at the time I was furious because I had won and I never got special treatment in party games on my birthday. To my kid mind it was like they were trying to be assholes. :D
