I have been in that very Evo VII at 0:27. It was used as a development car for the FQ package that was made for the UK importer of Mitsubishi. My Dad picking me up from work in it, the drive home was one I'll never forget.

Besides the fact that we didn't get the VII in the States, Ive always been a little Salty/Jelly about the *_"FQ"_* model Evo CT9A's. I personally think that outta all the available models in the States, I own the best Evo 8. Tarmac Black 2005 SSL. Which came with the 10.5cm hot side. The Leather seats may or may not be as nice as the Alcantara & Leather Recaros in the 9s, but other than that I love the SSL. They only made around 100 Tarmac Black Evo 8 SSL in 2005. So my car is technically pretty Rare, but I definitely wouldn't mind owning one of the FQ360 or 400 bc of the rarity. They only Rolled out 100 of the 03-05 Evo 8 FQ400s which is pretty damn Rare. That's only 33 per year then consider the color and it might only be about 5 or 6 ever made!

@@Thr33.Sid3z The FQ cars were basically a standard Evo with bolt ons added from the HKS parts catalogue. The higher power cars like the Evo VIII MR FQ 400 were a little more hardcore, a local company called Owen Motorsport developments were responsible for the turbo upgrades down to those models. The FQ cars weren't done with MMC's blessing, it was the UK importer who took it upon themselves to do this. Some of the modifications were quite time consuming, especially the Evo X FQ 400 because it not only had more power but different body parts added, apparently the paint finish on these parts took time to get right. My personal favourite Evo is the VI RSX, basically a VI RS but with the best bits of a GSR. Very rare though.

4:44 You can make engine sound change with various tricks like higher redline or custom intake After all, they are modified and not stock. It's not that you make a straight 6 sound from inline 4 And don't forget, it's possible to make Evos go past 200mph so the redline can be very high

The tailights comes from some car lights company who wanted to sponsored the movie using their product, but they only have Cedia Lancers taillights. So they modified the back end of the car to fit the Lancer taillights. Not to make it look like Evo 8.

4:40 you are right. you do need a honda engine. I would say that it sounds very close to a f20c (the engine used in the s2000). but from what i hear from tyres eclipse i think you would need a 2004 ish subaru engine

Now seeing the specs so many years later I am shocked they went with the Evo over the WRX. I did not know anything about cars at the time and I had my 02 WRX pumping out roughly 330 horsepower. I coupled that with a 3 inch turbo back exhaust that made that boxer engine sound like a boss on the road. I also had the Morette headlights, clear taillights and OZ gunmetal racing rims. Made the car have a mean looking profile.

My stock Opel Vectra C 2.2 16V (Z22SE) sounds like this Evo. xD Not from the exhaust but from the engine itself. It's not really a special sound. The Nissan Skyline sounds way better and really awesome. No Porsche and no Ferrari can keep up with a V-Tech or Nissan Skyline sound that is very special for me. BUT an old V8 oder V12 can keep up with! :)
