Back in 2008, 26-year old American Brian Shaw made his first ever World's Strongest Man appearance. Placed in Group 4 alongside the then 4-time Champion Mariusz Pudzianowski, the rookie Shaw made his mark on this competition by claiming 21 points - narrowly missing out on qualification to the finals.
