Probably about the hand strength. Both what Ermes and Devon did to Levan was way beyond what anybody else could do since his streak started. Everybody was freaking out when Laletin had a battle with Levan in round 1. What Devon did is way more impressive but everybody simply dismisses it because of Devon hate bandwagon.

Yeah, amateur armwrestlers gotta understand that to go even slightly farther in this sport than just the common armwrestler, one ought to have a coach that knows what he's talking about, knows all the lifts necessary but also will work with what's given in his/her client, and is also very experienced in some type of pro armwrestling.

Michael Todd has not got the same body structure as it as Brian Shaw so the problem is is he's giving a point of view of his body that's more acceptable to breaking down where is Brian Shaw has had more overall strength training and it's probably got a better build up and a base so if he started specific strength training towards arm wrestling at this point I think it probably would shock the world in no time at all... Especially with somebody like Devon training him

I started at 43 (last year) and I was never athletic. I also have many nuerological issues and can't stand very long, basically one step away from being disabled and I found out I am not half bad at the sport. I won't be a competitor ever, but I can beat most of the locals and hold some big guys at bay. Brian will be great at this sport if he puts his mind to it!

whoever thinks brian can be a contender for levan in one year is someone who knew about armwrestling yesterday. or a devon fangirl (that, in its majority, knew about armwrestling yesterday too, along with their first period, which probably happened yesterday too) a more realistic view: not even in 10 years of pure and the best armwrestling training possible brian can reach levan level. maybe if he was more than 10 years younger he could become a contender. but in his 40's, thats plain and simple impossible. after some years of training he can definitely give us some very entertaining matches against other freaks from other sports that gave armwrestling a try like him, guys like kiril sarychev, leonidas, larry (who btw are VERY strong at the table, mainly the first two, if brian manages to beat kiril or leonidas in a few years, I will be VERY surprised). but thats it. maaaybe a top 10 guy if everything goes the best possible way and he adapts the best possible way. but thats it. no way he can reach levan level being a 40-year-old who never trained armwrestling before. we have guys almost brian size (derek and kurdecha) with very well over 10 years dedicated to the sport, competing at the highest level, who are still miles from levan. no way someone the same size who never trained for it at over 40 years old would reach a higher level than them. some guys just dont understand what "the best who ever did it" really means. this is who levan is in this sport, deserves more respect.

No one is taking the respect away from Levan, everyone recognizes him as the undisputed number 1. People are just getting hyped because Brian is a former strongman which give's him a lot of base and overall strength. I think he will become a top 30 guy in about 3 years and top 10 in 5 years. If Brian commits to arm wrestling to a certain extent, he can definitely become a high level super heavyweight in the next 5 years. But because of his age, those 5 years are all that he’s realistically going to get at that level. Grip is probably the most overrated thing for arm wrestling honestly. Most matches go to straps and it’s a lot more irrelevant. I am 44 and my recovery time is better then when i was in my 20's and i still look like i am in my 20's. Treat your body and mond right and therest will follow. Huge part of it though is genetics. But 40's isn't old. When i was in my 20's at 285 with 11% body fat ar 6' i had more injuries and set backs that was unreal and i was natural. Had some serious health issues that set me back 10 years now bouncing back like never before and feel better then my 20's.

Love your channel, but Brian isnt just any big strong guy. He's a professional athlete. He trains intelligently and methodically. Among his many accomplishments, he won the world's strongest man 4 times and has one of the strongest grips ever measured. Brute strength isnt everything, but it matters a lot. Brian probably needs less than 6 months to set record numbers on the back pressure and pronation lifts. He's a hairless silverback for crying out loud!

I think Brian Shaw VS Khalid could be a good match to start with. I also think Brian’s age is a huge factor in whether he is successful or not in the near future. He has a 10 year window probably to get really good. He may not be near as good as we think but he could also end up being amazing. It’s really hard to say with a guy like him.

As usual, Todd is wrong. NOBODY is saying that he could beat Levan in 12 months. BUT, acting like it's going to take him 5 to 10 years to even get to a main event match with anyone is beyond absurd. I'm a big MMT fan...but MMT is going to be the one getting the reality check when Brian starts dominating the greats of the sport...in only a year. Brian doesn't have "one of the strongest grips in the world". He has the strongest grip in the world(blob and dumbbell gauntlet challenge with nobody even a close second), and he is the current "Strongest Man on the Planet". With Devon mentoring him...he's almost a sure thing(if he stays healthy).
