DEVON LARRATT RANKS HIS OPPONENTS
Coach Ray asks Devon Larratt to rank some of his biggest opponents from 1-10. Who was the most difficult and who was the easiest. Few days before facing Denis Cyplenkov. Devon Larratt puts a number of how hard it was to beat some of these arm wrestlers.

Yes, I train to do so .... being rich affords me that advantage. Power Lifter, Jujitsu, Boxing, (I was already a two time state champ wrestler). I also do 3 gun drills (pretty good) and long distance shooting (I Excel at that)... tracking (animals and humans) etc....im 46 and in the best shape of my life. I weigh in at 205 to 235lbs depending on Training goals. 15 years ago I weighed 299lbs. It was all fat. I was a loser. I let drugs and alcohol ruin me because I couldn't get over some oast trauma. Then one day a man started a fight with me. Even though I was out of shape and lost. The guy took me on afterwards and taught me how to be successful. The big problem of Ermes is just one. ENDURANSH, ho he says ;) . He is not even close to the endurance that Devon has and if he loses the wrist against Devon, is a dead man. So his only chance to beat Devon is to flash pin him or beat him in first 5-10 seconds. So the raw power is the key to beat Devon. Devon said that speaking of Levan. John just does matches for fun at this moment, he enjoys the sport so much. It was a good return match, cuz younger and hungrier guys might be even more dangerous. Denis past the test and voevoda didn't. Zaur on the other hand, I totally agree he was pushed too much, matching him up against Georgi. But Zaur was so confident he could beat Levan, so he got what he asked for more or less, he got a beating.

Vitaly is a bad match, because he isn't strong enough to beat the very best, but he might be strong enough to beat devon and that's bad for the promotion/sport. We want to see the best guys being challenged and if someone doesn't bring such skills and only leverage that makes him superior against some, that's not good. That's why even in boxing they avoid matching certain fighters against each other, it's only now that they started fighting each other again. Till now, they wanted to build them up properly so they can have a backup plan. That's business and devon's charisma, skills, strength can make this sport grow so much more, than just have Vitaly potentially beat him and have to build him up again, especially at his age.

I think Levan should be in a separate weight class from Devon. It is not fair to allow 40kg difference in one division. He just said in the interview that even a 10 kg change is significant for the outcome, so how come they allow 40 kg difference in the super heavyweight or whatever it’s called class? Make Levan drop 40 kg and let’s see how strong he truly is. Chances are not even as strong as Devon. Something is wrong with the weight classes in arm wrestling IMO.

The problem is the distribution of size across humans in general. The majority of the population is only between like 140-220lbs. Once you get above and below that, the number of people dismisses greatly, as in a Bell Curve. Most of the population fits inside the Bell So, you can’t have a bunch of weight classes above 200lbs, there won’t be enough guys to compete, and the skill level will be way lower overall, the competition not very competitive. Like for Levan, even if you made a weight class 300lbs+, there would only be like 5 guys who could compete in it with even reasonable skill level

@pedrocosta3311
@pedrocosta3311 5 ай бұрын
Well, he won with press technique (flop press, right?) His tactic deceived Devon, he should have merit for that also. But cant see Devon falling in that mistake again. Seems to me it would be really hard for Genadi to win a rematch against Devon. Devon already knows what to expect and strengthned the areas he realized that werent following. His game leveled up so much after that loss
@14lamnc1

@@pedrocosta3311 true, but Genadi ain’t stupid either. He knows that the flop may not work as effectively next time and he could definitely change up his tactics.

Devon one of the best arm wrestlers off all time said that LEVAN if he doesn’t heal from an injury it doesn’t matter he’ll still be on top lol. That tells you the level of LEVAN compared to everyone else. Devon has been arm wrestling for a long time and thousands of people.

He has cystic fibrosis and though the sport loves to promote the ex champ, the biggest side effect of CF is rapidly dwindling testosterone levels. If he keeps trying to offset this with juice, his blood pressure will spiral and he will die. The ex champ is playing Russian roulette with his health, all on the strength of ego, peer and fan pressure. Unless the only thing in his life of value is arm wrestling…. then frankly, he needs to grow up and take a step back. His doctors must be totally flabbergasted by his actions.

Considering that his arms are 10 cm thinner than from his prime, this is a very good result, he lasted almost as long as Ermes. Levan lost to almost everyone in 2010-2016, when his arms were 10 cm thinner than in his prime.
@roscot40
@roscot40 5 ай бұрын
@@swe1733 if ever there was an arm wrestling casual…. Denis pushed his body well beyond its elastic limit for this match. His doctors will be advising him against the risks to blood pressure from his overuse of PEDs. CF patients are normally offered TRT, but the vast amounts he’s having to imbibe to stay competitive will result in fluctuating blood pressure and invariably heart problems. The fact that the arm wrestling community is willing to overlook these practices shows a level of obtuse negligence that rivals the bodybuilding world.

Yeah, I was surprised to see what happened. No King's move, and no attempt from Denis to launch an offensive in that prime 1st round where he had all the energy and managed to put up a fight. He just held Devon the whole time without an offensive. I think having lacked some years of pro armwrestling experience he just needs to get back into shape. It looked like he was in a practice match, rather than a championship match.
