Brian to the Rescue at Ludham Bridge

Oh! My! Goodness! It was wild out there today !
I have further footage of Brian the recovery boat doing a fabulous job but unfortunately I can’t transfer it over from my camera to my phone. I’ll try again tomorrow.
The poor cruiser Carrie had a problem. I’m not sure how they got through Ludham Bridge. 🤷‍♀️

Wow... You deserve a medal, going out in that weather, just to film for us!. I've experienced a few 'blows' while camping and boating in Norfolk, but nothing like the gusts of earlier today. I think, had I been in your shoes, I would have sat indoors and put together a 'compilation video', then called it a day. My sense of adventure only comes out to play, when the sun's shining these days...

It’s was horrendous!! I sat in my car and only opened the window to film. I’m contemplating having another look tomorrow. It’s all about the angle of your parking 🚗😂🛥, get it right, you stay dry... wrong and you might aswell be outside! Lots of flooding tonight. It was already over the bank at Potter at 4:30pm. Lots of trees down and even power cuts. I do feel for everyone on a boat tonight, while I’m tucked up in bed with my heated blanket on 😂😂

That is wild. We had some weather like that a couple of years ago and friends of ours wouldn't move from Irstead Staithe and phoned a friend to bring provisions to them. We carried on but I don't think it was as bad as that yesterday. Casting off and mooring was the testing bit and cruising along wasn't too bad. Let's hope that rope didn't get tangled round the prop or had a sunken dinghy attached. 😂

Hi Dave, I’m glad you spotted the rope too 😀🛥. Yesterday was total madness! The chap in Brian did an incredible job. He deserves a pay rise !! I’ll have another look later and see how bad it is today. Stay safe.

It always surprises me ,how many people do not bother wearing "flotation devices", I fell in once ,just larking about ,on the Bird years ago ,and although not a great depth ,the pull of the tide was incredible. Managed to get out ok ,no thanks to the crew ,who could not stand up for laughing ! Mates eh ? Anyway ,should read "Bure" ,not Bird. Predictive text ! 11 out of 10 for foul weather attendance ,keep it up ! Tel and Jan.

I know, it’s a real eye opener. I have a life jacket and I’m proud to wear it on the very odd occasion I’m on the water in a boat. It’s the swirling of water either side of bridges that show you how bad it can be. Water always looks inviting though, especially on hot days. Thank goodness we have the inshore lifeboat on the Broads. If the tides going out .... and you’re in the water, you’re going too. You only have to see the cruisers that get stuck against Potter Heigham bridge due to the tide ... and they have engines !!! Water is scary! I’ve lived here long enough to know, never to swim in the Broads. #alwayswearalifejacket 😍

It was very rocky last night we came back to Richardson's yesterday due to the weather Barton broad was horrendous we lost a fishing rod and landing net of the roof crossing it 🌬🌧🌊🎣🛥

Oh no !! I presume you didn’t know they were over the side until too late. That’s such a shame and spoils the holiday. When it’s such awful weather, are the boats nice and warm ? Safe journey home .

Yeah the heater on gold gem 7 is toastie warm had a slight leak in the roof but Richardson's sorted that yesterday afternoon All in all having a fantastic time cant believe we've been on here nearly a week already 1 week left to go

i can't believe how rough it's suddenly become , friday morning it got really bad , horrendous rain & the bad wind seemt to come from nowhere , i saw that the bridge was 7ft today , so we would'nt have made through today at all , as san julian was 8ft. 4ins gulp .
