Great video, thanks so much. One statement got my attention. 'In case you have an emergency at home, and you need to hop on a plane, make sure, that you have a little pool of money set aside.' Let me add: 'Make sure that you have a little pool of miles/points set aside.' Whereas last minute one ways paid with money can be outrageously expensive, award tickets can be available last minute at a very decent rate. And, it's a great hobby, actually my only hobby.

Not even all the way through it, but what a great video - thank you for it. Yeah, so here I am after my first month of two in Crete, my first stop on my full-time travel journey. (Loving it!) I chose Crete because I know Crete and just needed a place to decompress after my four months of visiting everyone I love in the States and saying goodbye. I mean, it was lovely, but very emotionally draining. As a single dude with no kids and no living parents, I don't plan to be back in America very often, certainly not yearly. Your perspective on Montenegro vs. Albania was very helpful, as I was thinking of one or the other after here, but I've about decided on February in Istanbul. Concerning planning for places to visit, I think I'll continue doing what I did on my long goodbye tour, which is not deciding where I'll be months out. I like getting somewhere and then deciding where next; I know myself well enough to know I have no idea where I'll want to be six month from now, except in a general sense. I mean, I suspect I'm going to want to be in northern Europe this summer, but I do not know that, and I refuse to decide, yet. Anyway, thanks again. I really love your channel. It's very helpful and somewhat validating. Enjoy your time back home. Xaviotes (not my real name) P.S. Have you heard of this word I found recently? Coddiwomple - to travel in a purposeful manner toward a vague destination. It's my favorite new word and life plan, for now.

Hi Carrie and Brian! If you ever go back to Turkey. I had recommended Marmaris in a different video. I would also recommend Mardin( Mesopotamia) with over 5.000 years old history and so much culture. The oldest Monasteries in the world 1700 years old, Tigris and Euphrates river is there and so much more, It’s in South Eastern part of Turkey and very safe. The climate is similar to Cappadocia. Mardin Is my birthplace😊 and it’s famous for the best food and rich culture. I also recommend Mick and Trudie to watch their videos. Great question! During the times we've tried to move around faster, we do find we struggle more to find a good work/relaxation balance. But, during the times we are in a location for a month at a time we find we have plenty of downtime to combine it all without feeling like we are sacrificing. Cheers!!

What do you look for when purchasing airline tickets? Being that they are expensive.
@BrianandCarrie8 ай бұрын
I'm mainly looking for the best deals and best layovers if there are any. It's really a multi layered search process. We are going to be doing a video soon where we will cover all the ins and out.

Hi, enjoy your Travel Channel, my wife and I are planning an extended stay in Portugal next year. We saw your Portugal videos and saw that you stayed in Lagos and and RVSA area. My question is we were thinking about staying a month in each place therefore what do you guys do for a full month in one location for example when you stay in Lagos, what did you do for a full month. Thanks for responding. appreciate it, Paul and Cecilia.

Hi Pual and Cecilla! You will find plenty to do in the Algarve to keep you busy. We would go on hikes or to the beach. It's fun to grab a drink a cafe by the marina. We would jump on the train and explore nearby towns. We have several videos out on Lagos and the rest of the Algarve for more ideas. We also have this KZbin channel that occupies our time as a nice hobby. 😁

My husband and I have tickets and are hitting the road in February 2024. Your videos have been super helpful!! One thing we are still working on is health insurance. We won't have insurance at home (USA), and plan to spend 3 months in US per year. Our Cigna Silver plan, with a $1,500 deductible is double what Brian is paying. We are curious, what plan did you choose to have such affordable insurance, and are you comfortable with your coverage?
@BrianandCarrie9 ай бұрын
How exciting, February will be here so soon. As far as coverage, we were both very comfortable with the coverage we had with Cigna Global. The amount you pay monthly can vary so much by the country your starting on for coverage and your age. Id also suggest going through the price estimate on their website, as that seems to be a bit different than talking to a agent.

What kind of computer or tablet to you carry with you to do editing, researching, etc? Or do you do any of that from your phones? Thanks😊
@BrianandCarrie4 ай бұрын
Great question. Carrie uses a HP Spectra and I use the Asus Zenbook for all the editing. If you plan to do video editing don't cheap out and buy something that you think will do. Thats what I originally did and had to upgrade to the Zenbook.

Thanks for a great video, you answered a lot of the things I have been thinking about, I am about to sell everything here in Aus and start my adventure around the world. I do have one question that you didn't discuss, it might be in part two but in case it isn't: How do you manage the exit rules for each country, that is, countries want to make sure when you arrive you won't overstay your visa, I have seen people talk about rented tickets out etc... DO you do this? I am planning 1-2 months in each country, starting with Albania. DO I need to get an exit ticket for each country? This is something I can't find anywhere and it is probably my biggest point of uncertainty. Would really appreciate your advice on this one.
@BrianandCarrie9 ай бұрын
We have not needed an exit ticket to any of our destinations so far except Vietnam. You won't need to worry about that anywhere in Europe. Thank you for watching and supporting our channel. Safe travels! Cheers!!🍻

@@BrianandCarrie Yesterday I remember the #1 thing you need when travelling and living in other people's aptos - A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR ! The Yarbros mention it in their videos, especially for Mexico. Numerous families have died in MX from LNG gas leaks. You go to sleep and never wake up ! One place to buy a portable battery operated unit is at RV stores or certainly online eBay etc.

I found your comment about Ecuador interesting. I probably wouldnt go to Guayaquil or the border with Columbia, but otherwise Ecuador isnt any more dangerous than the US (According to the Global Peace Index, the US is more dangerous than Ecuador).

The US is more dangerous than a lot of countries!! 😂 We know people who had to move from Equicor and others who changed their travel plans. We are basing our decision on that and the fact that there are so many places that we would love to explore as well that we can wait until we feel safe. ❤
