Great video, thanks so much. One statement got my attention. 'In case you have an emergency at home, and you need to hop on a plane, make sure, that you have a little pool of money set aside.' Let me add: 'Make sure that you have a little pool of miles/points set aside.' Whereas last minute one ways paid with money can be outrageously expensive, award tickets can be available last minute at a very decent rate. And, it's a great hobby, actually my only hobby.

Thank you for your honesty about ads !!! Your advice is great ! One thing I think that you both have that makes it work is that you both are relaxed people who don't seem to get stressed out and work well with each other !!! That may seem obvious but to travel even for a a few weeks, that is really important !!! SO glad you guys are living out your dreams. Hopefully you will be traveling to Egypt, or other EPIC places that you haven't gone to yet.....at least I don't think you've been to Egypt....maybe South America ???

I love the "how to pay fir costs part". My husband and I do the same. We are a "mature" aged couple. (I'm 60, he's 53.) We've only been married 6 months. Not even all the way through it, but what a great video - thank you for it. Yeah, so here I am after my first month of two in Crete, my first stop on my full-time travel journey. (Loving it!) I chose Crete because I know Crete and just needed a place to decompress after my four months of visiting everyone I love in the States and saying goodbye. I mean, it was lovely, but very emotionally draining. As a single dude with no kids and no living parents, I don't plan to be back in America very often, certainly not yearly. Your perspective on Montenegro vs. Albania was very helpful, as I was thinking of one or the other after here, but I've about decided on February in Istanbul. Concerning planning for places to visit, I think I'll continue doing what I did on my long goodbye tour, which is not deciding where I'll be months out. I like getting somewhere and then deciding where next; I know myself well enough to know I have no idea where I'll want to be six month from now, except in a general sense. I mean, I suspect I'm going to want to be in northern Europe this summer, but I do not know that, and I refuse to decide, yet. Anyway, thanks again. I really love your channel. It's very helpful and somewhat validating. Enjoy your time back home. Xaviotes (not my real name) P.S. Have you heard of this word I found recently? Coddiwomple - to travel in a purposeful manner toward a vague destination. It's my favorite new word and life plan, for now.

I loved the answer to the question what you would have done differently. I am 10 years younger and saving up and sizing down is exactly what I am doing now. Many people don't understand, react irritated or deride early retirement plans. I think that most people are so deeply stuck in our consumer society they can't accept somebody deviating from it.

Hi Carrie and Brian! If you ever go back to Turkey. I had recommended Marmaris in a different video. I would also recommend Mardin( Mesopotamia) with over 5.000 years old history and so much culture. The oldest Monasteries in the world 1700 years old, Tigris and Euphrates river is there and so much more, It’s in South Eastern part of Turkey and very safe. The climate is similar to Cappadocia. Mardin Is my birthplace😊 and it’s famous for the best food and rich culture. I also recommend Mick and Trudie to watch their videos. They lived in Turkey over 25 years and very knowledgeable about the country. Amazing couple like you guys! Thank you for visiting Turkey! 🇹🇷 ❤🇺🇸

Great seeing you guys back! Hope you had a great holiday. I'm glad that you're considering Buenos Aires. It's a really great city. I was there in December 2008 and got an apartment for part of the time that I was there. I had planned to be there in summer 2009, as I was totally booked back to Bangkok for the annual Dec/Jan trip, but at the last minute, the Yellow Shirts protested and closed down the international airport. So, I had to shift gears really fast and went to Buenos Aires instead. Being flexible is a key to travel. I also hope that you go to Brazil. It's a very interesting and diverse country. Here's a question - what are the top (your personal favorites) KZbin Travel Vlogging channels? Example, for me, I was one of the original Kara and Nate subs and I also always watch The Endless Adventure with Eric and Allison. The funny thing is I'm 64 and I still follow these "kids". We (wife and I) have traveled the world over and continue to travel internationally. I just find bits and pieces of what they do that we want to do as far as locations to visit.

That's a great question!! We enjoy Probably Lost, Amelia and JP, Delightful Travelers, Sammy and Tommy, and Retirement Travelers. You can also consider Paddy Doyle. Thank you for watching our channel!! Going up against Kara and Nate is a tall task! 😄 Cheers!!🍻

My wife and I have just done the same think, retired early and are travelling around during the winter and going home for summer. We are debt free too, but survive on one pension and therefore have to budget too. We are thinking about downsizing our UK house in the future but can manage for the time being. Wild horses could never drag me back to work for sure. The point of my comment is that I love the way some of the answers are surprise even to Brian......! If you get chance give our channel a quick watch and let us know what you think. Mike & Cheryl

It was a bit confusing w the answer in the Pt.1 video - could you clarify whether Carrie has Cigna Global (with US coverage) AND Safetywing? Or just the safetywing now instead of Cigna Global? We’re trying to figure out health insurance for coverage for sometime in the US and worldwide. Thank you! You two seem so down to earth. I love your videos for their unglossed honesty.

Interesting, as I've watched a few of your videos, and I just heard you say you're house sitters in the States. Brian also mentioned he has a daughter in St Petersburg, FL, and that you arrived in the Tampa port. I live south of Sarasota (within a mile of the beach) and have a small dog, I thought I would just reach out with the thought that it may be mutually beneficial. We're always looking for qualified pet sitters when we travel to the UK each fall. WOW, as I watch this video--- you're a wealth of knowledge. I wish we were beer drinkers so we could tag along.

Hi to you. Firstly best wishes for 2024 and hope it's a good year for travelling. I had a question, with all the shots and images that you get from your travels does it also allow sufficient time for you both to relax and enjoy. I was thinking with all the time and effort that goes into your videos I hope it allows time for you both to enjoy with your time?

Great question! During the times we've tried to move around faster, we do find we struggle more to find a good work/relaxation balance. But, during the times we are in a location for a month at a time we find we have plenty of downtime to combine it all without feeling like we are sacrificing. Cheers!!

Hi, enjoy your Travel Channel, my wife and I are planning an extended stay in Portugal next year. We saw your Portugal videos and saw that you stayed in Lagos and and RVSA area. My question is we were thinking about staying a month in each place therefore what do you guys do for a full month in one location for example when you stay in Lagos, what did you do for a full month. Thanks for responding. appreciate it, Paul and Cecilia.

Hi Pual and Cecilla! You will find plenty to do in the Algarve to keep you busy. We would go on hikes or to the beach. It's fun to grab a drink a cafe by the marina. We would jump on the train and explore nearby towns. We have several videos out on Lagos and the rest of the Algarve for more ideas. We also have this KZbin channel that occupies our time as a nice hobby. 😁

My husband and I have tickets and are hitting the road in February 2024. Your videos have been super helpful!! One thing we are still working on is health insurance. We won't have insurance at home (USA), and plan to spend 3 months in US per year. Our Cigna Silver plan, with a $1,500 deductible is double what Brian is paying. We are curious, what plan did you choose to have such affordable insurance, and are you comfortable with your coverage?
@BrianandCarrie
@BrianandCarrie 9 ай бұрын
How exciting, February will be here so soon. As far as coverage, we were both very comfortable with the coverage we had with Cigna Global. The amount you pay monthly can vary so much by the country your starting on for coverage and your age. Id also suggest going through the price estimate on their website, as that seems to be a bit different than talking to a agent.

Thanks for a great video, you answered a lot of the things I have been thinking about, I am about to sell everything here in Aus and start my adventure around the world. I do have one question that you didn't discuss, it might be in part two but in case it isn't: How do you manage the exit rules for each country, that is, countries want to make sure when you arrive you won't overstay your visa, I have seen people talk about rented tickets out etc... DO you do this? I am planning 1-2 months in each country, starting with Albania. DO I need to get an exit ticket for each country? This is something I can't find anywhere and it is probably my biggest point of uncertainty. Would really appreciate your advice on this one.
