I was looking for the same info too. On the bottom right corner, there is menu. Click on menu -> workflow -> virtual keyboard, then you will see a virtual MIDI keyboard. I really don't think this software is for an absolute beginners that just wanna learn what the hell synthesizer is.

yeah i had this about two years ago, but it was awefully buggy and would suffer from glitching out. such a shame i tried to reach out to them but no one answered it looks like they stopped any support for it. it had so much potential and came with so many useable presets too....

I'm using Surge since quite a while and producing some tutorials and all the time I had problems or questions that the really great manual didn't solve, I asked them on discord and every time I got after a minute an answer. So maybe you asked in the wrong place?

Not sure where you reached out, but Surge has been in constant development since it was open sourced in 2018... We have had hundreds upon hundreds of commits to the codebase and an awful lot of additions and fixes and things!
