Amazing logical job! In civil engineering we consider the painting area as W x H X 5, where 5 is just a painting coeficient, instead of calculating bar by bar. Also, a frame around the wall opening where all this metal structure slides. Just 2 details. Again, congrats for your great work.

I think the formula you were asking is OFS=if(Open, VPW+10mm, W/No) What this formula do is: If the "Open" parameter is checked, this gate will be in open position, the OFS(distance between array groups) equals VPW(the width of vertical member)+10mm(to create a gap between those vertical members so you can see part of the "x" structure, make it more realist), If the "Open" parameter is not checked, the OFS becomes Width divided by the number of the array. Hope it helps.

How to add handle? Because if closed and open this handle not followed with door.

Create the handle as a separate family, either face based or work plane based, nest it into this family, and lock it onto reference planes, you can create parameters to control the height, or visibility too.

To modify the family category, access the Family Category and Parameters and convert it into a door family. If you need to create an opening in a wall with this family, you will need to create a wall-based door family and nested this family in it.
