I got a coach wallet in college and ended up using just the minimal ID holder inside (gave the gigantic outer part to my dad). It holds 3 cards comfortably and the rest is digital on my phone.

@@kurupt2096 I got the discover it first and used only 10% of my credit line while paying it off in full every month for an entire year. Exactly one year later I got the Amex blue cash everyday and waited three months before applying and getting the Chase Freedom. I would say the benefits of having multiple cards are you get more available credit line so if you spread out your utilization between multiple cards, your utilization ratio stays low getting you a better credit score. Also having a relationship with Amex and Chase at a young age helps you build that relationship with them early on so when you have a decent job later on in life you can qualify for the bigger cards they offer easily with no hassle. And lastly having credit with multiple people shows that you are trustworthy so it also helps your score and gets you better interest rates for multiple things.

@@kurupt2096 Quick tip though: I was denied for Amex when I applied so I called their "reconsideration line" and explained my situation and told them why I should be approved. They put me on hold and then told me they had just approved me right then and there. So if you ever get denied, try calling the company's reconsideration line to get approved

I have the Schwab and Business Platinum Cards. I kept the Business into year two for various reasons, including an upcoming refund, and to keep Amex happy after canceling Bonvoy. I like the 35% point discount on points used for air, 1.5X on 5K purchases, but I don't think I'll renew into year 3. Hoping they update the Business Green beforehand.

Platinum, Gold, Surpass (upgrade to aspire after 1st year, double dip on sign up offer), Chase prime for visa usage, citi costco visa and my bank debit card for when I need to re stock my cash supply. Not to happy with Chase so I tend to stick with Amex. Customer retention is a lot better from my experience. Keep up the quality content Brian. Definitely learned a few things.

Hey Brian I just got the gold card and I thought there was no credit limit but apparently there is one that varies depending on how much you spend. My question is does this affect you at all and what are your thoughts about it?

Well yeah, they do have a limit mostly because they don’t want people spending over what they can afford to pay back. The limit varies depending on usage and annual income. This does not affect your credit score based on credit usage since it is a charge card. As long as you pay everything off each month you should be good.

Its called spending power. They calculate your limit based on your purchase history.

I have the same pocket organizer but in all black. I love it because of exactly what you said, so many card slots but still super sleek. My daily driver is the Citi AAdvantage Executive. I’ve only flown 3 times this year due to Covid, so I haven’t really gotten the chance to enjoy their benefits like I usually do. If Covid remains the same, I might switch over to the Amex Platinum card.

Ernie Lopez so I’ve had the wallet for over 2 years now and the cards are a bit scratched but I believe that’s also from how old most of my cards are as well. One thing I did notice is that when it comes to plastic cards the edges seem to deteriorate more than other regular wallets. Most of the cards I carry are metal cards besides my license and 1-2 other credit cards that I might use to maximize points so this isn’t much of an issue for me but I can see it being an issue if you carry a lot of plastic cards specially if they have the raised numbers on them.
