If you are Verizon customer and pay rent, you only need version card to cover phone bill, gas and supermarket, BILT pays everything on 1st you could (such as metro card, wifi, streaming, car insurance, utilities, etc) food (3%) and travel (2%), Amzon card buys everything else on amazon ( also it is back up card for food, gas, transit and travel). No annual fee at all and centralized points.

After using all these cards this is the setup I have settled on: Anywhere with apple pay - US Bank AR , Rent and Restaurant card - Bilt Mastercard, International Travel - Amex Plat, Back up catch all BBP, Gas - Custom Cash. I mostly get food to go, so sit down restuarants are around 3 - 4 times a month where I can't use apple pay.

Hi I have a question regarding canceling credit cards. Apparently welcome bonus is just a one-time thing. For the ones like Venture X/Reserve, should you ever consider cancel them after getting them? And for other cashback cards such as discover/freedom flex/savor one, do you cancel them after 12 months, wait and then re-apply to get the welcome bonus again?

Don’t cancel credit cards. Period.

I would consider downgrading them before canceling. Then just use a few bucks on them a year to keep them alive and build a great credit profile! I think it depends on the card but some have SUB’s that are once per lifetime, others are once per year. Hard to say as each is different
