By using the right credit cards with the right bonus categories I get 5% off on gas, 5% off on travel, 5% off on utilities and streaming services, 5% off on groceries, etc., etc. Combine with specials, coupons, etc., and inflation doesn't exist in much of my world. And they often offer on-time special offers like 10% off your local grocery store chain. This weekend I used a 20% off at Old Navy to buy a new belt. And I still got 1.5% on the card for the remainder so it was like 21.5% off. My CVS drugstore often gives me a "40% off any one item" and then my credit card has a 10% off at CVS. Fifty percent off one purchase! Game the system!

I’m a huge fan of your channel! My credit card journey started back in October 2022, and I have a pretty good set up with all the credit cards I need! Your videos have helped me go in the right order, being able to hit all my welcome bonus offers and all the points and miles that come with that. I look forward to do some traveling in 2024 so credit card have really been an awesome addition to my finance strategies. You do have to be financially responsible and very well educated to get the most out of them, and you’re helping us get there!

About a year and a half into the credit card world...I jumped in hard and deep...watched a bazillion videos, really thought about my budget and matching cards, and got a lot of cards in short time (7 personal and 5 business cards).This includes a mix of no annual fee cards up to cards like the Platinum. Redeeming for travel so definitely learned I prefer points over cash back. Credit score also went up like 60 points to mid 700s which was also one of the goals (still would like to be in upper 700s. Even though I can justify value, I still need to watch the number and amount of annual fees going forward. And now have to wait to be under 5/24 till March 2025. But really have most of my based covered and could just go the next year adding no new cards (but sure some welcome bonus will tempt me)

Hey Brian. You should do a few videos on building credit card history for new immigrants & nonresident aliens participating in the US economy. I know it's not popular with your US crowd, but it's a group of users not targeted by your type who could use your knowledge. Plus, it also helps folks preparing to come to the US. If your mission really is to help people gain more credit card knowledge, who can benefit more than these two groups? Food for thought.

Closing a credit card is ok as long as it’s not your first card honestly 10 credit cards would be way to hard for me you won’t lose any credit history right away it’s 7 to 10 years for the closed by then your other cards will still be open and it won’t affect your card try not to close your old card

So my biggest question is how, if I were to open up multiple Amex Credit Cards in a short period, would I spend enough to get all those points? Or, if I should stagger my acquisition of these cards by several months so that I can sequentially get all those points. PS - just joined the military and so the fees are waived. Thanks in advance.
@garygretarsson Жыл бұрын
I would suggest definitely staggering the applications because you don’t want to spend a bunch of extra money just to get a bonus. That makes the bonus pointless.

Is this guide only valid for the US? I live in Germany and I was wondering if something like this makes sense here too? I am still hesitant to even do more research because this country still heavily relies on cash and debit cards. Not many people even own credit cards and they are only accepted in few places like hotels and airports etc.
@holzmax807311 ай бұрын
Genau das frage ich mich auch. Bist du mittlerweile auf antworten gestoßen ?
@r.f.s.876611 ай бұрын
- also alles was du ohnehin zahlen musst. Unterm Strich also leider nein.
