Great storytelling through your video and shots! You can tell that you had a great time there discovering all those places. You're such a big inspiration, Brian! :)

Awesome pics and video clips. Really curious if you know the language. Heading there in a few months and wondering how many phrases I should prep 😅

Thanks! Nope, I could only say "thank you", "excuse me", and "hello". Was totally fine, though I'll probably try to learn a bit more before my next trip. Download the Google Translate app and use the camera feature to translate menus and stuff and you'll be just fine.

Any advice on building film recipes?

I'll make a video about editing someday, but I'm shooting in RAW and then doing basic edits (with the Fuji film profiles) in Lightroom

Brian, are these gorgeous shots, gorgeous colors, a result of your switch to Fuji? I may be hallucinating, but this footage looks distinctly better than in past videos (not that the past ones looked even remotely bad.) Very curious. Beautiful video as always! Thanks so much for these gifts.

Well thanks Cindy! Probably some of it has to do with Japan itself, a bit from just a change in my own taste over time, but yeah, the Fuji colors really are pretty great :)

@@BrianLackeyThanks! Good to know. Makes me want to look up your earliest videos now for comparison 😊 BYW, so grateful for your words in a recent video about excess editing. One of the most beautiful features of your work to me is the utterly natural-looking final product. The amped-up stuff all over social media, pics that make landscapes look neon and shrill or shellacked or something, hurt my eyes! lol It’s like they are straining after beauty, or going past beauty into sentimentality &…I don’t know what. Hotel wall art?

Was in Japan a few weeks ago. It is a walhalla for photography.

The Fujichron trinity. Which lens did u find using the most?
@BrianLackey14 күн бұрын
Probably had the 23 f/2 on my camera 90% of the time. Would be my desert island lens for sure, but the other two came in handy a few times :)

Are all of the video footage also from the Fuji?
@BrianLackey13 күн бұрын
Yeah just used the X-T5 for the whole trip

@ it's great, I hope someday I can buy one or Sony 😁. Did you color graded it?
