Gorgeous truck. I'm a huge chevy fan and I want one of these. Can't wait for the next duramax in 2017-18. :)

Great video. How was the ride considering you didn't have a load in the back? I am in the market for a new truck and want to go HD, however, I have heard they are extremely stiff and don't make good everyday drivers. Thank you.
@nickbusato71389 жыл бұрын
You can tell its over sprung as you suggested it would be with no payload in the rear. I never found the ride to be overly compromised though as it's a common issue for any truck of this size. I did gig some chatter in the rear under heavy breaking on really bumpy surfaces but how many are really going to push the truck as hard as I did? I think for every day driving you are not going to be really reaching the same breaking thresholds that I was using when chasing down 911s.

desertracer2 They do ride firm, but I wouldn't say it's extreme. Give one a try. Nick probably drove this tester the hardest, but I enjoyed driving it everywhere we went. Day to day, it's great, and when you need to haul stuff, it's capable.

Brian Makse Thanks for the info. I will be using this as a daily driver and will tow a big trailer on the weekend with motorcycles in the back. I was pleasantly surprised that you got 20 mpg on the highway. Can you get better deals on these HD trucks compared to the new 1500 seeing that most people don't need an HD?
@BrianMakse9 жыл бұрын
desertracer2 Happy to oblige. Mileage was impressive, but with the diesel, it's so easy to just roll with the torque, which makes it remarkably easy for a chump like me to get decent mileage. In fact, we averaged 20 mpg overall. IIRC, we drove about 500 miles in total, up over Angeles Crest, from LA down to Orange County, running around there, then back to LA. In my home market (Ontario, Canada) discounts on this exact 2500 currently amount to about $7,000.

My dad has a Denali 2500Hd (2016) and it's Just as Badass! But I'm a fan of the High Country a little Better! I love the Leather it's got! Denali's! The Leather's ok! But what I like about it is Like they all say!: The Grill and The LED Signature Lighting!

I bought an LTZ , step below the "High Country" and it was 82600.00 msrp before taxs. The high country would prob come in at 86,000.00 in Canada plus tax. Excellent truck, great POWERTRAIN very comfortable and capable truck.

Thanks for article and movie. I bought me one. Wanted Diamond White but not available in 2500. So I got Black. I added a K&N air syst. Hypertech A leveling kit. And a Diamondback cover. I averaged 26 mpg to Florida from Ohio. Thru WV Mountains. I'm 64 and still got some kid in me at now Around 600HP AND 1045 TORQUE Love It Rides better than the Escalade I had and a Mercedes and about anything you can name I've out run Corvettes and Mustangs that have turned probably 2 blocks early to keep from having to pull back up next to me at the next light. You covered a point nobody else could answer for me. The High Country is a AWD system. Not part time. At least every one I've looked at has been and the worry for me was the fuel economy. I like full time all wheel drive. I have it on my 4Runner. But I know it costs a bit fuel economy. If you got 20mpg in your test, I can check that off my list. This heavy duty truck gets better mileage than my little Toyota SUV.. Thanks for posting!

+Painter Dood My 2015 high country 2500 silverado is 4x4, most are in America, i havnt ever seen a AWD high country in or around my area at all.
@Keenaid28 жыл бұрын
+Painter Dood These trucks are not always all wheel drive, but all are capable of 4WD. Every one of these trucks has a knob to switch it from 2WD, 4 High and 4 Low. But unless you're always driving on wet, or muddy hills you would never need to leave in in 4WD. If you're driving on normal roads or even flat terrain in 4WD all day everyday you must not know what you're doing. It also gets better MPG than your 4Runner because it's a diesel engine, and diesel cost more per gallon.
@airit3ch8 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, you confused me. There is a difference between AWD and 4WD. AWD is always engaged, mostly in cars. AWD cannot be put into two wheel drive, its always in four wheel drives and have differentials in the front and back. 4WD systems have the 2wd the 4hi and 4 low.
@Keenaid28 жыл бұрын
+Airitech Yeah I see now, I read wrong on the first comment and thought he said he had his 4runner in four wheel drive all the time. But these trucks are not AWD like Painter Dood said. They only come in RWD with 4x4 capability.

What's something like that worth? In Australia we would be looking at $150k plus for a RHD converted one.
@BrianMakse9 жыл бұрын
It's about $72K before tax in Canada. It'd be amazing in Australia!

GM should get with that shift selector still hanging there on the column. Install the push button on the dash like Dodge.

***** No MPG ratings are required. However with the diesel there are many reports of 20+ mpg highway (unloaded) personally I see a 22 mpg average unloaded and 12 mpg average with my 16,000b gooseneck coupled
@NordicNevs9 жыл бұрын
***** also CITY you can expect around 14-18

you will not see any EPA numbers on an HD truck I would, by my own experience, would be confident in saying 18-19 combined is a fair number
@NordicNevs9 жыл бұрын
There is no EPA rating on these trucks bud!!! These are just my personal empirical views

Couldn't agree more. Where we shot it, it was great, but in LA it was stupid and wonderful and obnoxious all at the same time.
