Curb weight is not 3542lbs, that is for a base Ecoboost. A Performance Pack GT come in close to 3900lbs.

There is a RECARO Seat option on the 2024 Mustang GT with the Performance Pack.

@@BrianMakse Brian, you order the GT Premium, select the GT Performance Pack, and then that option unlocks the optional Recaro seats which are a $2145 CAD package. This is not available on the base GT with PP, just the Premium.

@@BrianMakse You were testing a standard GT, not the Premium. Premium adds a one piece dash; the std GT has a two piece dash which is what you were driving.

#1- Save the manuals. #2- I'm a longtime Mustang owner/driver (since '88), now on #10, a 2019 Bullitt. They're just fantastic cars overall and even though I'm not a fan of the S650 gen, you provided a solid and fair review.

The Mustang has *always been king of the muscle cars*. It's no surprise it's the last one standing. The Coyote 5.0 is a *beast*.

My fear is that with all the others dropping their muscle cars, Ford will end up jacking up the price since there is no competition.

I previously owned a widebody scatpack manual…i sold it two years ago due to barely driving it…I got the itch again to get a replacement. I test drove this. This IMO def lacked the low end torque that the challenger has…and the one that I drove had the recaro seats. I was very uncomfortable in them. I couldn’t enjoy the test drive due to it lol. They had plenty of manuals at the dealer with the standard seats. But they were buried in by so many other cars. I saw your review on the WB scatpack manual btw. Def one of the best reviews on that car. The mustangs aren’t really selling by me(Northeast)…but I’m seeing some discounts of 5-7 grand off in other areas of the country. And there is currently a recall on the 24 manual Mustangs due to a hydraulic line issue in the clutch. A dark horse caught fire under the hood due to the problem…overall though. The car was ok. But I found myself yearning for another challenger instead

At some point I will have to be picking up a manual 650 Mustang in the next few years. Probably a loaded GT Premium.

Exactly. The ten speed is great for what it is, but the manual makes the car.

Today's drivers no longer want manuals. Go to any Ford dealership and when you tell them you want a manual, they'll give you the screw eye. You'll likely have to special order it.

@@leviefrauim1425 yea im looking around and got a call today from a dealership and the salesman repeatedly asked if it was the manual i was looking for, i find it very strange that someone would want a automatic v8 muscle car. It just doesn’t seem right but i guess a lot people are ok with it. Most of them are automatics even the “premium” models.

For the past 20 years over 70% of corvettes were bought with automatic over the manual. I don't know the mustang world that well but I would guess the same thing. It's just "a car" to do car things to most people... Auto is just better day to far

Great review. I love the manuals, and it is sad that manufacturers are trying to shut off manual transmissions and force us into autos and electric vehicles.

The value just isn't there any more. I paid ~$53K CDN all in for a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE. That included mag ride, active exhaust, Recaro seats, upgraded Brembo Brakes painted red and an electronic locking diff, to name a few of the major features. A 2024 Mustang GT base with the Performance Pack, active exhaust and red brake calipers is almost $68,000 with tax and doesn't even include mag ride or the Recaro seats! Sure, it has more power now, but overall it's actually a significantly less capable car on a road course, not only compared to the Camaro, (2.5 seconds slower per lap from Throttle House's same day testing) but even the previous S550. You need to step up the Dark Horse to match or beat the Camaro, and that starts at $77,000 CDN!!! WTF happened! We're paying way more to get less 🤯

You made an excellent choice with the 1LE. Nurburging lap times are nonsense, let alone KZbinrs who aren't pro-driver-grade...

It's alll inflation, that exact same 2018 spec would be 10k more if it was produced today. The 2024 1SS starts at 57k, with tax its probably 65k. This happened to pretty much every car in the Industry lol, the current WRX costs the same if not more than the STI did back in 2021.

Your listed curb weight is not even in the ball park of what Ford itself and other sources say. We all wish it was 3500 lbs but its actually in the 3850 to 3975 lbs range according to Ford and Car and Driver who weighed samples. C&D weighed a standard 2024 GT model in at 3947 lbs. Ford lists 3847 lbs for the manual GT. Where did you come up with 3500 lbs?

I can get 17-18 on 50/50 city highway. Better than my Challenger 5.7 for sure, but not great since the Mustang has a much smaller gas tank. The Panel fit and paint are terrible compared to the Challenger. Dodge does paint really well. The interior quality is better than the Challenger though. Performance is better too.

I won't be letting go of my '23 Mustang for this. I don't like the body work changes or the ipad's stuck on the dash. If Ford goes back to a classic dash look with analog gauges I might be tempted, but they'd also have to lower pricing because I also think this car is way too expensive and will depreciate badly in the coming years.
