I just bought mine two days ago, and I've been amazed at what this car pumps out. For 443 HP and 443 pounds of torque, I cannot believe how this car drives. It's way off the charts in performance. (When I got home, I let my 70 year old mother drive it, and she floored it and was doing 100mph in no time. I was like, uh...mom...you're doing 100mph. I am?!?!) Yet, it's not harsh whatsoever. It feels refined, while offering an extremely capable, yet polished drivetrain and driving dynamics. I was out looking for a second car, to drive alongside my '23 Range Rover SV. I am in real estate, so I put a lot of miles on my cars, and I didn't want to dump all of my mileage on just one car. I honestly was just going to purchase something super inexpensive like a used C-class, or a BMW 3 series, but I stumbled upon the CLE 53 AMG in my car search and the dealer had me drive it. Was too good a car to pass up. So I found the exact spec I wanted in Dallas, TX and hopped on a plane the next day and flew down and bought it. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. And the tech and interior ambient lighting, one does it quite like Mercedes-Benz. It's phenomenal. If you're thinking of the CLE 53 AMG as your next car, you definitely won't regret it.

Brian, wouldn't this be a more direct competitor to the M440xi as opposed to the M4? I'm talking more on a performance spectrum then price. Apparently, MB is ridiculously overpricing their cars of late. BMW M440xi 0-60-3.8....MB CLE53 0-60-3.8... BMW M4 0-60-2.8. I would imagine a possible MB CLE63 more of a competitor to the M4 no?

We’re kinda splitting hairs, but here’s what I think: inline sixes, awd, big brakes, wide bodywork, pricing, etc make the CLE 53 and M4 pretty well aligned. The 63 will be more like a CSL competitor.

Mercedes pricing is clearly aimed at the m3 and m4 comp xdrive and it fails miserably at being a better performance car. Even when the new cle63 comes out it will be priced towards a m3/m4cs and I guarantee it won't even touch the m4 xdrive in terms of pure performance. The 180k+ amg gt63 can't even beat the new lci m4s

there is a CLE 450 which has similar performance and prize as m440. The 53 has a body change and interior change just like a true M car so it’s definitely like a base M4

I like this more than the BMW but absolutely love the M3. Brian, if the M3 Touring comes to North America... I'm sold. I'm not crazy about the large performance wagons at all. They're great to look at but too big

How's the interior quality and build? I've heard mixed reviews about interior being truly c class level and whilst looks nice. It doesn't have true fit and finish of prior benz products.

If there’s a forged option, I’d go with those especially if they’re lighter. Unsprung weight > aesthetic.

@@BrianMakse I have the 20 inch forged cross-spoke in black on my CLE 53. I love the look of them in comparison to the ones in the review. A lot less going on with them, and more free space to see the brake calipers. I can only imagine how difficult the ones in your review are to clean. LOL. 😂

Have you driven this car? I just bought mine two days ago. This car is phenomenal. I've had a number of performance cars and I'm quite surprised at how much they'eve managed to get out of this car and its performance. Styling is WAY better than the M3 and M4 as well.
