So touching that Jer was worried about her son being forgotten. If only she could have seen just how alive his memory is at the moment (2019). Freddie will never be forgotten. He will never be boring. He will forever be in his prime, punching the air at Wembley Stadium.

@V Vinte It's worse than dying to see your mother cry. Freddie wanted to die in peace. His mother, father, sister should be kept away. Freddi's choice and he just wants to die peacefully ... You don't die peacefully in your mother's arms, because your mother wants to die before you ... You feel sorry for her, not for yourself. I don't want my mother watching me die. He cries after I'm gone, yeah, but I can't see him. All members of Gueen speak fondly of Freddien's mother. You sound like you're talking about the movie, yeah, but this movie is too much missing and wrong.

Sad honestly a Mother trying to keep her son's memory alive, and people disrespecting her by dropping his drawings on the floor, and asking the dumbest question of all do you think the best way to preserve his memory is in a museum? A Parent's worse nightmare is to bury a child before them. It's obvious the woman had picked the drawings, and kept his shirt and hat for herself to remember her son. When she is ready to donate them to the Freddie Mercury Museum I have no doubt she will, until then leave her alone to treasure what she does have left of her son!

Towards the end of his life, the father, Bomi was in the same nursing home as my brother, who had lost his legs and fingers due to Gangrene here in Nottingham. Bomi had a booming voice and was always shouting for a nurse. It was obvious where Freddie got his great voice from. Brother and I were often outside having a smoke when the mother and sister visited. My niece Tracey worked in the same nursing home and she sat with Bomi the night he left this earthly plane...
@KTR20229 жыл бұрын
Arthur Dale That's great! We know almost nothing of Freddie's father, unfortunately.
@arthurjdale86849 жыл бұрын
Bomi was shouting for a nurse one day and they were busy, I had given my brother his dinner as with no fingers I had to hold the cutlery for him. I wandered into the lounge area and asked Bomi if I could help. He wanted a glass of water that I got for him. He thanked me very much and I held his hand and asked if I could do anything else for him but he said he was OK. He told me his son was a famous rock star and I said, I KNOW MATE, HE WAS THE BEST,..Bomi once again thanked me. I did say that my niece Tracey sat with Bomi the night he passed away, the Bulsara family knew Bomi was reaching the end of his life and asked the nursing home if someone could sit with him, so young Tracey got the job. I would have thought that someone from the Bulsara family should have been there. But that is just my personal opinion.

Never been a fan of the ginger one anyway - but his personality seems that he regards himself as on a par *at least* with a passed rockstar - one who will *never* be forgotten! - and/but Freddie is *Royalty* compared to a radio DJ who got lucky... (albeit, I'll give him, is a bit 'savvy'). He *will* be forgotten in time. Freddie - NO, it won't happen. I think his legacy is to be the *greatest front man of all time*, and WHAT a back catalogue!! (If only there had been the acceptance of homosexuality and AIDS then, that there is now - a shame that he had to put up with the gutter press - at times I think you can see Freddie's 'mask' (of disdain) slip (in some old interviews) - yet *so* polite. ...and yes, if I'd have dropped those designs from nearly 50 years ago, I could not have bent down and scooped them up quickly enough - *especially* in front of him Mum (who brought them in) and his sister. They've thrown open their doors (metaphorically), but more *respect* Mr Evans - PLEASE!

Though this clip is so old, I think this whole show disrespected Fred's family. Not even listening to them, but just pushing what they wanted to be shown and said. Basically ignoring Fred's mom and sister when they talked and just bringing it back to what the show wanted to present. "Yeah Yeah, that's nice Fred's mom. But this is what we want to present about your son." I'm an American/Italian...And was a child when Queen was big in the 70s/early 80s. But I see my grandmother in Fred's mom. A Proud Parent talking about her child, and you can see the glazed memories in her eyes as she spoke, on a TV show who is going with the flow cause she just really doesn't know what's going on other than she is there about her son. And this show took advantage of that.

Freddie was an Indian-Gujarati parsi. The reason why most people never knew he was Indian was because he was a light-skinned ambiguous looking one, but his parents, especially his dad, look more Indian. Otherwise, parsis look in between Gujaratis and Iranians, some look south asian, while others look west asian, but almost, all of them are mixed at some level and this variation shows in families.
@neohip4899 жыл бұрын
This has always confused me. I always knew he wasn't "Anglo Saxon" but he was "white". I couldn't care less about skin pigment really but my Dad, who is pretty much of Welsh extraction, is several shades darker than Freddy ever was, especially in the summer months, but Freddy's immediate family were so much darker than him. How would Freddie have become the icon that he is now if he was as dark as his parents and siblings!? Perhaps it would not have mattered in Europe, but he never would have had the fantastic success in America if this had been the case, or indeed if his racial background had even been known then!

+BollywoodBachan - Zanzibar is actually in Tanzania in Africa
@papulrocks7949 жыл бұрын
+miss kitson Nope he was Indian.
@TheTradge9 жыл бұрын
***** Well his parents were both actually Parsis from the Gujarat region of India, but he was born in Zanzibar, so technically he's of Persian-Indian ethnicity, and he moved to Britain when he was 17 after his family was forced to flee Zanzibar due to a Revolution. So if you're going by his "ethnic background", yes his parents were from India, however both were Parsis rather than pure Indian, so he's Parsi through and through, he was just born in Africa.
@papulrocks7949 жыл бұрын
***** Parsis aren't persian.How the hell do you migrate to a certain part in the world 1000 of years ago and stay of that nationality. By that logic whole of world is african. Parsis fled persia to avoid persecution by muslims who are the predominant populace now in Iran. India is the homeland and has been for predominantly all of the parsi population for a long time.

At 51 I'm so happy to see performers who had polarized public perception in their day finally be seen as the great artists they where. Performers like Freddy and Queen, The Bee Gees and John Denver are more appreciated now then they where then since they are finally being seen for their music....at last.

Freddie Mercury will never be forgotten. Even now, 23 years after his death you still hear his music everywhere, on the radio and TV. He is loved all over the world and I think it would be amazing to have all of his things shown in a museum dedicated to his life. I do however find it very disrespectful that Chris Evens drops Freddie's picture on the floor and just leaves it there!!
