I've always been one of those people who preferred quality over quantity and would wait until I could afford the quality product....cars, house, toys, etc. I thank you for pointing out the lack or absence of quality so I don't have to discover it for myself and waste my time and money and be frustrated with it. As always kudos to the amazing camera crew.
@BrianPhillipsRC3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jack for getting the point ;) As for working hard and waiting for the better choice, I guess, I'd say I'm somewhere between this type of plane and eflite, when I started out, but I would have had a more limited RC budget, so I'd end up with the Dynam + NECESSARY Upgrades ;) I just hope that new RC pilots don't get this FIRST...then assume it's always like this. Here's to hoping Bitgohobby and some of the other Dynam distributors can work together to bring some necessary changes to the Dynam lineup.

Hi Brain. I had a similar plane from Hobbyking and I had the same problem with the landing gear. I put it on a separate switch and removed the plastic wheel covers. Now it works well.
@BrianPhillipsRC3 жыл бұрын
These retracts are bound by the wheels, not the covers, unfortunately. I've had that symptom before too, and removed or modified the covers to fix other planes too.

I have a few minor problems with my gear on my Dynam FW 190 but I agree it just flies so good and looks so good I am willing to put up with the Dynam gremlins. The BF 109 is the same, flies fantastic but there is always that moment when you say will it be a belly landing or will the gear work this time. You should try the 109 PNP and put a ar630 in it or a lemon rx stabilizer like I did. Shout out to your very patient Camera Crew!!! What a redemption landing nice job, do you think your plane is a one off? As far as retracts.
@BrianPhillipsRC3 жыл бұрын
I think it's probably going to be like this for most. I can understand why you'd ask, with Dynam sometimes being "hit or miss"...but unfortunately, I think the retracts (the servo-less retract) is too weak, and the bogies don't allow for the slightest mis-alignment or the wheels bind into the wheel well. Possibly with stronger retracts the bogeys wouldn't be a huge issue...but I'm not sure about that.

Have you been in touch with Bobby from Bitgo Brian ? He would be interested in your feedback . They are trying to improve the quality of the Dynam models.
@BrianPhillipsRC3 жыл бұрын
I would invite speaking with him, but to date, we haven't spoke. I deal with his business partner. I KNOW they want to improve Dynam, that's why I work with them. If I believed they weren't, I'd have given up on Dynam a long time ago. Buying anything that's imported is a bit of a risk, and in our case, our North American Distributors are our ONLY line of defense against garbage. They help shape the quality control, cost, looks, feel, and overall experience with our goods. With Bitgohobby, I firmly believe that they're here to serve us in the RC community. They have an uphill battle against a lot of shortcoming with Dyman, but I will continue to bring NO-BS reviews, and help you, as a consumer, to know what you'll get when you get it from Bitgohobby. My PRIMARY allegiance it to you, the viewer, and secondly to our affiliates. I don't want to be unfair to our affiliates, because they took a risk working with us, and they too, want us to succeed. They're trying to reach who we reach, and they want us to help fight hard for your RC budget, but I'm working as a bit of a mediator. When problems arise, I want to give them opportunity to resolve conflict, while sharing the possibility of issues from China with you, a potential buyer, BEFORE you drop $300 on a plane. I know most of this is pretty obvious, but we really WANT Dynam to get their issues resolved. I think they could keep the lower price point, and improve quality to the point that their planes are 98% in stead of 90% good. If they want to shoot for Horizon Hobby level sales and support, they're going to have to work very hard to build better reputation. This will take YEARS, and YEAR only after some of these problem become the EXCEPTION to the rule...not the rule. This of course, is much easier said, then done. I bet they're going to have to make a few trips over to China to have some heart to heart meetings to resolve many of these issues, and the profit margins will be either shrunk a bit, or cost will need to go up a little bit....either way, if they hope to make success of this venture, something will probably need to change for the better. The world doesn't need another "General Hobby" - noteworthy for horrific customer support, and ALL that's wrong with imported Chinese junk...also, please note that not ALL Chinese imports are "junk". Much of it IS, because the Chinese business model is very good! They know that if we can buy for $5, they must make it for $2 or LESS! They know how consumers buy, and they have many advantages over us here in the States. I don't begrudge China for going after our market, but I'd love to see some more American MFG companies seriously innovate something here....but I wouldn't be willing to pay 3-4 times what I pay for some of the GOOD Chinese imports. Just some quick thoughts. I think a lot about these things.

I would if it were the right plane. We have room on the property for bigger planes too, in the back, but we don't really have a runway cut yet.

I love Warbirds, they are very falcon'like, if you've ever seen a Peregrine falcon go head to head with a crow its like a battle out of WW2. Unfortunately I am dealing with either a gravel driveway, or a grass runway so anything with small landing gear is a no go. I am relegated to bush planes and belly landers, luckily both are very popular nowadays. Have you done any Arrows RC products? I am loving the Husky and Bigfoot, and their Vector stabilizer is awesome.

That's a bummer!!! They seem to have a few planes with decent retracts now, but I think for the health of the company, it would make great sense to go ahead and upgrade them all to the better goods...even if they have to jack the price $10-20 per model...it's pretty much an expectation anymore.

Don't boycott them!!! That's crazy - They worked out a deal with Mike and it was a pretty fair deal. We're just playing along to be supportive. After all, Mike and HH did a TON of work to bring this thing of beauty to us...it was after all a privately designed plane. Not 100% sure if I can say this in any level of specificity, so I'll be intentionally VAGUE here...We could have all been forced to pay royalties on EVERY plane made...but Mike was so reasonable, he had a much simpler, and much more economical deal for HH. That being said, don't fear - we're filming the unbox, build, and radio setup in a few minutes ;) I'm pretty excited, but the weather is crap, so we won't be flying her right away... ;( In the mean time, Paul, please read my "blanket" reply for a good chuckle, and spend on - We have the Draco now, BUT we aren't allowed to review yet. Maybe you should only fly eflight don't review Dynam any more.
@BrianPhillipsRC3 жыл бұрын
Why? So that you can get blindsided when you get an issue like we had on this plane? We're trying to share what's GOOD and BAD about these planes. This plane flies amazing, and looks ALMOST as good (10 feet out) as the new 1.5m eflite, but it's like 1/3 the cost! And the retracts basically don't work...oh well. It's like this, when you're a kid, you watch lamborghinis and ferraris driving around and think - WOW that's cool! - but you and I will probably never drive one... Well, I see all these model planes, and I think WOW that's cool! - I work with these distributors to bring it in REAL life to you before you have to buy it yourself, and then when it sucks, you can move your RC budget to another Dynam or another plane that better fits your needs....OR you can buy this AND some higher quality retracts, and plan for another half day project to get her flying good. Anyway, I think sometime the point of what WE'RE doing here is missed. 1) We want to help teach new RC pilots how to get into the hobby. 2) We want to STOP "one and done's" - when someone gets a plane that's TOO hard for them, and they crash it and they quit the hobby 3) We want to help fellow RC enthusiasts to spend their limited RC budget the best they can 4) We want to share the latest and greatest RC aircraft 5) We want to help others to position themselves to best enjoy the hobby in their own way 6) We want to encourage people who are thinking of giving up 7) We want to GROW the RC community thus enlarging it's reach and legislative power to keep the politicians at bay 8) We want to GROW the RC community to reduce the price of increasingly better technology and equipment 9) We want to enjoy the hobby and share out experience 10) We want to work together (Megan and I) on something 11) We want to open up doors to people interested in aviation 12) We want to explore new and exciting aspects of aviation 13) We want to share about our lives and learn about our audience 14) We want to have real relationships with others involved in aviation No doubt we fail from time to time, but these are many of our goals on our channel. We work hard to produce this content. It's not easy, and it's not without sacrifice by me, but mostly from my wife and family.
