This is what is signified by the words Anā l-Ḥaqq, "I am God." People imagine that it is a presumptuous claim, whereas it is really a presumptuous claim to say Ana 'l-'abd, "I am the slave of God"; and Anā l-Ḥaqq, "I am God" is an expression of great humility. The man who says Ana 'l-'abd, "I am the servant of God" affirms two existences, his own and God's, but he that says Anā l-Ḥaqq, "I am God" has made himself non-existent and has given himself up and says "I am God", that is, "I am naught, He is all; there is no being but God's." This is the extreme

"I searched for God among the Christians and on the Cross and therein I found Him not. I went into the ancient temples of idolatry; no trace of Him was there. I entered the mountain cave of Hira and then went as far as Qandhar but God I found not. With set purpose I fared to the summit of Mount Caucasus and found there only 'anqa's habitation. Then I directed my search to the Kaaba, the resort of old and young; God was not there even. Turning to philosophy I inquired about him from ibn Sina but found Him not within his range. I fared then to the scene of the Prophet's experience of a great divine manifestation only a "two bow-lengths' distance from him" but God was not there even in that exalted court. Finally, I looked into my own heart and there I saw Him; He was nowhere else." (Mawlana Jalal-al-Din Rumi)

@yusufg.1281 Жыл бұрын
I don't know who you are quoting but if it's a Muslim keep in mind that "deen" or the Arabic word for religion also means judgement, recompense, perhaps "in love is no judgment" is a better interpretation. Because I assure you love does not blend all religions into one. Some beliefs just don't, can't agree. Tawhid doesn't go with shirk.

Mawlana Mohammad Jalladin Rumi Balkhi, born in Balkh modern day Afghanistan, began his spiritual journey upon meeting his master the Sufi mystic Shams Tabrez. Rumi had mastered religion yet he lacked the spiritual Connection to God. And so upon meeting Shams he started this spiritual journey. To assume one can comprehend Rumi is liking thinking we can cover the sun simply by blocking it with our hands. Academics dedicate decades to the study of Rumi and still come out disappointed. Rumi is the ocean and our attempt at understanding it is like trying to empty the oceans with a mere spoon. We can only try.

Correction: He started his spiritual journey under the guidance of His father Baha'uddin Walad and then Sayed Burhanuddin Muhaqqiq Termezi. When Sayed also passed away and Rumi was in the last stages, Shams of Tabrez was sent to help him get through the last stages which is the complete annihilation of seeker in divine love. This is misconception that Rumi started his spiritual journey with Shams. At one point Rumi is recorded saying "If his father lived a little longer he wouldn't need Shams" as a spiritual guide but that was the divine decree.

You clearly don't innerstand and know the I AM, you,me... we are God. So we only have to step into our aligment, with the knowledge we had before, when we wrote this. We are guiding ourselves home in a way, we are all one, just tap into that knowing. Not put someone else outside of you, on a pedestal. Your words are your wand, when you tell yourself you won't understand it, you will find more proof of that. And vice versa..That is driving you away from your divine inner knowing and guidance. I hope this helped. ❤️🙏

This is Western style propaganda translation of Rumi just fyi. Rumi was a true believer in Islam and most of this is just a word play of the original. I would suggest you research a better translation, so maybe you can perceive and decipher yourself the meaning behind his words. I am the servant of the Qur'an as long as I have life. I am the dust on the path of Muhammad, the Chosen one. If anyone quotes anything except this from my sayings, I am quit of him and outraged by these words - Rumi Source: Rumi and Self-Discovery

Nice. This must be in a time before our discovery of ancient text from the Bible were discovered. I hear what you are saying but that is not just closed minded but rather closing the door on all others. I'm sure his wisdom is doing God's work. Im sure he would agree all religions and beliefs of positive influence is acceptable. I would feel different if so.

I am Persian,so proud of Milana Shams Tabrizi Balkhi famous as Rumi,In fact,he is belong to all the generation and all the world.there is some emotion that cannot explain in the word.connetion to Almighty GOD.It is so wisdom in his soul so poetic.Singing to God like a bird in the rainy morning time to his lover.Many of his poetry sing and dance in Sofia's way. God love everybody and everything that HE greated.
