Test Driving My Dream Truck! Ford F250/350 With The 6.7L Diesel! Dealer Test Drive [VLOG]

Today I stopped by to test drive my dream truck, the 2017 Ford Superduty, at Tom Holzer Ford! I was able to jump inside a 2017 Ford F350 XLT with the 6.7L Diesel!
Now most of you know I am in the market for a new truck, so I wanted to take an afternoon and go test drive this bad boy! The folks at Tom Holzer Ford were gracious enough to let me jump inside this beauty and take it for a spin.
I have to be honest, I was grinning like an idiot the whole time. I'm absolutely ecstatic about this truck and the possibility of picking one up this fall.

That funny, that exactly where I'm at with a new truck. I'm in a 2000 F150 XL work truck. I'm all over the Lariat model. I'm getting some perks for me. Been saving, cant write off anymore. Don't run the landscaping B anymore but i love having my truck. I'm so used to having it and when you need it you need it. Laugh when i see someone tiring lumber or a dresser on top a car. Was just getting a 150 but then the more I read and talk with people that pull a travel trailer and yes we are going to venture into more camping and traveling. So that has changed me to a 250 and yep the 6.2 will be fine. My truck is 17 years now, the plan was to do next spring and get one more winter out of mine. My wife is nudging worried that i might break down and its not 4*4. Its 500 lbs of mulch in bed to make it through winter. Just looked a 2017 F250 Lariat some options but not loaded and I love it. But if I pull the trigger now, I'm not where I want to be with down payment. Want to save another 8-10 grand. So yes sir I'll be watching as you go. Nice little review. Boy they drive nice.

Ford and dodge are a tank. Looks awesome 👌. I beef on ford guys but I think I could find buying one some day. 3500 Cummins limited edition kind of where I aim. Go big 💪 or stay home. I've had a few Chevy loved em. I just don't like the newer ones. Used 3/4 Chev was my last one. Was awesome. Red btw lol 😂 crew cab. Early 00s if they went back to that style id be sold. Dmax the works. Dispite shop time. Haha I felt like I had a FORD not a Chevy for a while as much as it was in the shop. Oh well. I don't drive anything at the moment. But just to get behind the wheel feel the tires under me again. I'd take almost anything. Oh well. Thanks Brian for your video.

I have that exact truck you are in. Diesel and Magnetic grey not black. Love the bliss system (radar detection). And you are going to spend that 8700 in led's, moonroof, and leather?? Put Carhartt seat covers in mine 3 weeks after I got it. Didn't get the Platinum or King Ranch so I could have money to do aftermarket upgrades. Just spent 15k on 4" OUO 3 link suspension lift. OUO traction bars. Air ride bags. Carli track bar. PMF dual steering stabilizer mount. All Fox 2.0 shock upgrade. 20x12 -51 mm offset SOTA Awol's on Toyo M/Ts 35x13.50x20. All new JL audio system with 2-8" subs. And a Pedal Commander to wake it up. Put 12k miles on it to break it in correctly before mods (pulls 9k trailer every day). Just completed my dream truck. Hope you get yours. Good things come to those who wait. I agonized over spending so much, but you only live once. And being self employed like you. I put in 12 hour days 5-6 days a week. Oh and EVERY option you can get on the XLT= $56900 plus tax and license (sticker 64k). Got to play hardball with the dealer.

Brian's Lawn Maintenance Just sent some before and after pics to your email. I'm not on any social media. Track bar and steering stabilizer go on Tuesday. Got one of the first Carli track bars. They don't sell anything until it is perfect. The 17's have been out for a year and they don't even have any of their lifts ready except the leveler. Ran out of patience. OUO (one up offroad) is the next best thing. Check both of them out.

If you go with the 6.2, make sure you get the 4.30 rear end gears. You will sacrifice a little bit of fuel economy but it will give you a higher tow rating as well as that extra low end grunt which you want for plowing or towing/hauling.

i got my dream truck earlier this year, 2014 f350 6.7 lariat, extended cab long bed, rudy red with tan lower, tan leather interior, knapheide utility body, 8' 6" fisher stainless xv2, tuned and deleted. every check box i could think of, even a/c seats which i didnt think was a thing. Now i'll keep it till it dies like my old 7.3.

I agree with not going diesel. I bought a 15 ram 3500 2 yrs ago. Has the 6.4 hemi. More than enough power to plow 1, 2, even 3ft of snow that we've had. Diesel engines are much heavier than gas so you actually can hang a bigger/beefier plow off the front of a gas. I have a western wideout on mine. Also remember that there is crazy markup on trucks. MSRP on mine was 45k and I got it for 35k plus 4k over kbb on my trade in.

Get the diesel, fuel savings will add up and with that enclosed trailer you will feel the difference in power. Also better resale after a few years.

that is a nice truck, they did update it so it had like 100+lbs torque more than others way more noticeable than other brands iirc. if your going to plow id make sure you dont get ifs make sure to get solid front axles its well worth it, and check if it has electric power steering or not as both work but the electric power steering can have more issues from what i remember. i cant remember the coating on the frame if its just the wax crap id have it sprayed with a better liner so it lasts forever. for plowing id just make sure i had heated mirrors, seats are nice but not a must have, backup camera, solid front axle with Timbrens added on, dream light bar would be from federal signal valor (its very spendy but lots of features/modes), boss ext 11', with some duratrac's for shoes. and the most important thing is lockers, if you dont want to go that route please put a winch on it with synthetic line. i also keep a set of v bar chains with cams as ive been in some shit blizzards and never been stranded. denver 03 was a fun one :)

My dream truck assuming I have infinite money would be an F-350 King Ranch Powerstroke with almost every option except for the sunroof and the power running boards (I’m scared the sunroof will break too easy in a hail storm, and I would never use it. The power running boards I would substitute for the extended running boards). I would want it to have the 6.75’ box and I would want it to be Ruby Red with the monochromatic package and the chrome package.

Ok so I’ll bite, upfront cost for diesel is $8700 more than gas, I bought a 2018 f250 xlt 4x4 diesel premium, $51k out the door with a cashier check, it’s paid off the moment I drove off the lot, I could’ve got a 6.2 lariat for $53k, here my thought beside me just wanting what I want, it would cost me 2k more for the gas lariat, in 100k miles later IF you were to trade or sale, kbb on a deprecating f250 6.2 lariat @100k for trade in is 33k, my truck which I bought for less than the gasser, is $44k, so you make back the upfront cost of the diesel easily, not many people will buy a used 100k gasser, but many will drop the hammer on a diesel, so if I went gas, it would’ve cost 2k more and at the end I’d lose 10k more, that’s 22k dollar difference, no brained for me, and I use mine as a daily driver while towing a 40ft TT gooseneck 6 times a year, and as far as emissions are concerned, I’ve had ZERO issues, Ford really figured this emissions crap out, I don’t even factor in maintenance cause I go overboard with all my stuff I own, it’s just part of the deal, but good luck with your decision, either way you can’t go wrong with the f250

You need to have the dual alts for plowing, just get the plow package and you will be all set. Getting it in Nov you will be a little late to line up a lot of plow jobs. Get the damm diesel.

Diesels are only worth it now with the emmisions crap off. Epa crap really killed diesels. I took it all off my trucks, because Using diesels for Landscaping, you're engine is on and off lawn to lawn and long hrs slow speed plowing don't allow the exhaust filter the amount of time and heat needed to properly clean and it will leave you with a big bill. They're ok if u do at least 50 mins on a highway and at highway speeds regularly.

For one the durability of the beds... our local body shop guys tell me they're a nightmare to repair... thus costs to do so are excessive, they require special tools and techniques many shops don't possess. Have you seen the commercials where they drop a tool box on it's edge from the bedside height? It punches an actual hole in the Ford, puts a very small dent in the GM products.... Just buyer beware friend.... 45 to 70K is a lot to spend for an inferior product.

SuperDave21 the toolbox in the back of the truck is the dumbest commercial ever!! Put a spray in liner and things will be fine. What’s funny if chevy and gmc are now making aluminum in there trucks now. Guess it’s not so bad???
