I’m a Brian Tong follower. He’s among the top tier in the gadget space. But no Mason he did not cover “a lot of things”. All the other You Tubers did not. He spent way too much time talking about color in my opinion. -- Look around - Brian’s interview was less substantive than others I’ve seen. HIs “polarized” fans need to be reassured on an aesthetic level.

One of the things I always loved about iMacs was the ability to move it room to room. In my “work from home” environment, I sure cant do that with my HP desktop! To me, if you work from home, you need the ability to change the surroundings occasionally. I’m so sick of being stuck in my home office. But, I’m not going to relocated all that hardware. But if we used iMacs at work….I’m all over the house, based on sunshine and views.

I’m absolutely planning to move my iMACaround! Like you said, you may think it is not useful until you have it. I get tired sitting in the same space, and I have 3-4 areas in myhouse I’ll move to. So I agree with you that once you try it a few times, you’ll be hooked.

I used to move around my 2013 21" iMac a bit. I thought it was soo cool how portable it felt. I could just unplug it and grab it and put it where ever I felt like working that day. My friends thought I was weird. But I am a creature of habitat and my surroundings really effect my productivity. So I get it.

I was debating up upgrading my MacBook for school because of the butterfly keyboard and it's slow when I'm using heavy applications (and playing the Sims!), and didn't even consider this due to non-portability. This totally sold me on getting an iMac instead! MBP for on the go and iMac for around the house.

I’m in love. I adore the colors, I got green high range and updated the ram, because I’m not getting another for a long time, and I traded my 2015 Mac Pro . This will be my first iMac, for school and I wanted a larger screen but not a HUGE screen.

Wish stand could be removable - would not treat as a laptop, but do move round or travel enough where I'd like to take the iMac with me.

If you move the iMac around the home it makes the two-toned look more visible rather than having the best color (IMO) facing a wall. And it also makes the thinness make sense because if it’s static, it’s thin for no reason.

I totally agree with you on pros and cons. The non matching purple is insane…someone needs fired. The lack of sd port is a joke, nobody wants dongles. I would have also liked to see a space grey option as well. I’ve always loved space grey

All for shopping abilities.. we exist in a time of online buying.. wether it be food,clothes or tech.. we can do it from a comfortable location..& cuts down on greenhouse emissions.. subtle I know.. but high resolution screen, shouts shopping.. & product viewing.. the idea is to market products in the format.. this makes the commerce road a lot more pleasurable.. 👍👍😎

It is a HDR display. Just not OLED or mini LED. No localised dimming but it supports HDR content just fine and looks better than most LCD displays when doing so.

Great review. I love the colors and hope they, of other colors, will be available on the larger iMacs. That’s what I’m waiting for. You mentioned all the critiques complaining about the colors and “chin.” They need to grow up and get a life. No company, especially Apple, needs to listen to all that. What they want isn’t necessarily what others want. Apple needs to listen to their customers, not the super critical tech nerds, This long time customer loves what he sees and heard in your review and really hopes that Apple follows through with something similar with the larger iMac and perhaps the M1X chip inside. Brian you brought up some points that I didn't think of. And showing the color matching theme inside the soft ware was cool. No doubt the processor is the next best thing in computing but the over all design wasn't what I hoped for. To me it looks way too much like a recycled iMac of the past. I still like it but don't love it. Im holding out to see what comes up next.

I moved my old iMac around, even bought a case for it so I could do that. My MacBook didn't have enough power at the time to work as a replacement so I sometimes had to carry the iMac around. It was a bit of a pain.

Biggest flaw (for me) was not including the Center Stage camera. I could easily see having one of these in the dining/kitchen area for family Facetime calls. Also agree about the SD card slot and the mouse design - maybe not worth "Bad Apples" but perhaps worth a "Bruised Apple". Otherwise, it looks darn good!

I use the better touch tool app which allows me to add custom gestures to the Magic Mouse which made me love it. That being said Apple seriously needs to change the charge location so you can use it while charging.

I like how you notice the fan not coming on. Low power fundamentally changes how people can work -- less weight means easy placement, less heat means more comfortable environment and lower cooling bills. The fan staying off means less dust issues and a quieter place to concentrate in. Big hulking machines with jet engine fans are miserable in real life.

Honestly, for me, the fact that the Apple logo isn't on the front is not because i would want to "validate" my purchase. I personally just think it looks much better. I don't know but it feels so "empty". Of course, it might just be something we have to get used to after all these years with that Apple logo on there. I do like the new iMac's a little bit better seeing the different reviews. For now, if i would buy this type of iMac, i think i would go with either green, orange or yellow. But like you said, color is personal, just like "taste". Other than that, this was really a great review! And personally, i just simply can't get over the fact that they could've taken the whole computer parts and moved it up by making the chassis a tiny bit thicker and the chin would simply not be there. But it's like you said: It's recognizable! And that's all that matters to Apple. It's the same with the notch on the iPhone. The only thing i did change my mind of is the white bezels. I think they actually don't look as bad because most of the walls in the people's home are either white or more colorful which mostly matches whatever color you might pick, so it blends in more. Also, when it comes to a "basic" computer, we all need to realize that this is an entry-level yet VERY powerful and capable machine. Yes, it is powerful. If you can do 4K and even 8K video-editing on a machine that is this thin, knowing that this is a "basic" model, than for me, this is a very powerful and capable machine! You also touched very well on the portable part. It's true that we generally never (had to) think about taking our desktop to a different part of our house but now we can. Wait, did Apple change the game? Again? Apple did so many things with this new chip! It's actually incredible! Honestly, not sure why, but i actually do think that Apple missed an opportunity here to match the colors of the iPhones, iPad's and iMac's. I mean, all the same chip, the same great colors. I do understand you on that Brian. You know, it's the little things. It's all in the details. Something Apple is normally good at, so yeah, not sure what happened there... 🤔 I do agree with the storage options. Or just do a lower asking price, like $50 or something to go from 256GB to 512GB. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Great review Brian, i love your video's!

All this release did was make me want to wait. 16 GB of RAM, lets wait for that in the MacBook air or pro. And now we have to also wait to see if the colors will be coming to other macs as well.
