Where would Americans get the idea about overthrowing a government they thought was tyrannical? Perhaps they have also read the Declaration of Independence and saw the part that reads, "...it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government..." But I guess they were wrong to think the authors of the constitution would have created the 2nd Amendment without a single thought of a tyrannical government or the possibility such a government would ever exist, in America, that would actively work against the will of the people and become destructive to the pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. After all, the American Revolution was such a peaceful time in America's history. No wonder the founders of the Constitution forgot all about that and created the 2nd Amendment to preserve the right to go duck hunting with your 4-year-old. I'm not suggesting the Republicans are right. But neither is Raskin.

I'm a Canadian but I follow American Politics very closely and I would just like to say that I think Jamie Raskin is a actual Hero, we all know that he showed up to congress after suffering a massive personal loss just before Jan 6 because it was his duty and he continued to go to Congress and stand up to MAGA after Jan 6 and during his fight with cancer. Jamie Raskin is a person that when he speaks, you listen and I always enjoy listening to him and find him to be a great inspiration when dealing with my own struggles.

That’s wildly problematic and a prime example of the slippery slope. Who decides the qualifications and who decides which potential candidates meet those qualifications? If a party has a majority can they now effectively disqualify their opposition?

Unfortunately a Three Party Hard Right Coalition Government got voted in December. One of the Parties called Act has a gun lobbyist MP. They Campaign on restoring semi automatics to be used in gun clubs sports.
