I think Rudy's fate will be tied to Trump's. As of right now, Trump can't do anything to alleviate Rudy's troubles beyond paying Rudy's bills, which we know will never happen. If Trump wins, he'll be able to use the office of the presidency to quietly alleviate some of the pressure currently complicating Rudy's life. Would Trump be even likely to act on Rudy's behalf at all, even if he had the political power to do it, is another matter entirely. But if Trump loses, Rudy's definitely toast. He'll be too toxic for genuine loans and he will be anathema to any mainstream brands. He might be able to land some advertising gigs for some RWNJ media outlets or off-the-wall brands (like the official Rudy Giuliani coffee he's hawkin'). No matter what happens, Rudy's world is going to keep shrinking for some time yet.

I'm left to wonder why Rudy can hold onto his high-priced condo in Florida (claiming it's his primary residence) while having such a huge financial debt still hanging over him. If he owed this amount of money to a bank they would foreclose and then sell all his assets out from under him. They would not leave him with a high-priced condo. Rudy will claim that this will leave him homeless . . . but that ignores the fact that he has both a son and a daughter who he could move in with. Why can't the court simply do the same for Freeman and Moss?

It's a somewhat controversial law but it's been that way for decades. In Florida it's possible for someone to be broke and bankrupt with a negative net worth and still live in a mansion.

But in Florida the homestead protection trumps (sorry) the bankruptcy code.
