My father was a cartographer and as a result, I was always interested in all aspects of geography. He remapped an entire country back in the mid sixties and did tell me how difficult it was to map a 3-D image onto a 2-D map without intoducing too many distortions. Loved the quiz and got an A*.

The southern-most pont of Africa is Cape Aghulas. 2. The Angel Falls is NOT the largest waterfall on the planet. That largest by volume is the Livingstone Falls on the Congo River in Africa. The largest by width is the Khone Phapheng Falls on the Mekong River in Asia. The Angel Falls is the highest or tallest on the planet with a single drop.

The Iguazu/Iguaçu Falls in Brazil and Argentina are the world's largest waterfall system. Stretching for almost 3km along the border of Argentina and Brazil, the falls are made up of roughly 275 different vertical drops with heights varying from 60 to 82 meters (210-270 ft). This makes the Iguazu Falls taller than Niagara Falls and twice as wide.

I’ve lived around the world and started out really good in this. Then there were some tough questions and I ended up with 40 out of 50 correct. I am not great on landmarks such as where is this building located. I am good on what straight is this and how many oceans there are.

Quite simple, but a missed the waterfall. By not thinking! BTW, Cape Agulhas is the true southernmost point, but not in common speech. An NI can be argued, as it is a province more than a separate country. But - again - four is the number in common speech. The Caspian is often regarded as an inland saline sea, not a lake, but i took my chance and did not choose Lake Superior, the largest fresh water lake. Still, should have gotten the waterfall ...

@@YarFeld You cannot define yourself as Israeli while claiming to stand for peace, as Israel represents Jewish supremacy, racism, and terrorism. To begin discussing peace, you should identify yourself either as a Palestinian of Eastern European origin if you are secular, or as a Palestinian Jew if you are religious. Just think about it.

@براءالمسلوقي Call me whatever you want. To me Israel represents the only place in the middle east where you can be whatever you want and believe in whatever you want and won't be persecuted for it. I have friends from every religion and ethnicity. Salam Aleyqum, may one day you recognize my country, and fanatics on both sides would lose their power, and maybe then peace will come.

@@YarFeld That is exactly the definition of occupation and apartheid. You can be and believe in whatever you want as long as you are Jewish, while I am deprived of living in my father's house near Jerusalem, deprived of political representation, and denied many basic human rights. Your ability to be whatever you want is a virtue only if I can also have the same rights. Otherwise, it is simply apartheid, also known as Israel. This land will only see justice when it becomes Palestine, ruled by its people.

49 out of 50 questions answered correctly without waiting for the multiple choice options. The one I got wrong was the number of islands in Indonesia, which just goes to show that every day is a schoolday! As for being a geography genius, I am not even close. To be fair these are the most basic questions that any school kid with a decent education would be able to answer. But it was fun.
