14/15....I answered one too quickly without giving it enough thought. You might say I was too impetuous. Meaning I was impulsive, rash, or hasty. Gman answered a question impetuously and therefore got it wrong.

I am Muslim ethnically from Mali and my native soninke African language has some loan words from Arabic like: Duna-world Sabari- have patience Sukara- sugar Qaburu- grave Jinna- supernatural beings and many others. I love the richness of meaning of Arabic and I am going to learn it to understand the Quran.

Surprisingly, your test is quite easy for someone who speaks french (and probably Italian) . Most of these difficult English words, are actually coming directly from French (or Latin) and not from Germanic languages.

15 out of 15. I'm a Brazilian teacher of English. With the exception of blunt, strain, and eschew, all the words have Latin roots, which make them quite easy for Portuguese speakers.
