But the nobles and the king completely refused to heed Gazef's warning. The problem is, the Kingdom is bad at war. They don't even realize that the Empire has never _genuinely_ tried to defeat them in a single battle, but is wearing them out _over time._

No kingdom or empire would ever give territory to a completely unknown proclaiming themselves a king of the area that had been in their kingdom for centuries. They also dismissed Gazef's warning because he's a commoner. So, Re-Estize did decide to fight the war, but the terms to avoid the war were so outrageous that no kingdom or empire would do so.

These "baby goats" name Dark Young and they are level 90, stronger than most entity in this new world, just by size and brute strength. They are able to cause fear and insanity in humans around them, even Gazef can not resist it. Also, according to Princess Renner, the total amount of deaths during the "Katze Plains" Massacre was said to be over 180,000. 70,000 came from the initial casting of the super-tier spell to summon the Dark Young and another 110,000 from their rampage.

Well, the soldiers who died in this battle all died instantly compared to being stabbed in the gut and bleeding out to a slow death. They died so fast that they felt no pain(it is written so in the LN), so in a sense that is a mercy in war. While the deaths in huge numbers and seeing so many die so fast might be traumatic, it is still less painful than how war in this world usually goes. I am gonna quote someone from the LN(it is not a spoiler) who I can´t believe I am actually quoting about this: That was war father. What difference does it make if they died to swords or spells? Which is true, war is terrible no matter what form it is. So if there has to be war, I prefer a painless one rather than a painful and torturous one(it is torture to be slowly trampled to death by other soldiers or slowly bleeding out on the ground)

To be fair, it was only a joke spell in the game because you could never kill enough numbers with the initial tribute to make enough Dark Young to matter, and because they were only level 90, a top tier player could handle them pretty easily anyway. In this world, five level 90s is ridiculously overwhelming in terms of power, and the Kingdom's army had a whole bunch of cannon fodder soldiers who'd die instantly to the sacrifice spell. The scenario they were in made it one of the most efficient solutions available.

Someone has probably already commented the splatsplatsplat scene... but I just wanna share /another/ excerpt from the LN, as Nimble and the Imperial Army watched the slaughter: ~ He had no idea where he was. It was like he had been hurled into a nightmare. The title of the Four Knights -the title belonging to the mightiest warriors of the Baharuth Empire- now seemed so shockingly superficial. How pathetic a creature was he, to be so proud of such an insignificant little thing? That was how great of a shock he had received. Nimble could hear the sound of subdued weeping. It was the sobbing of people who had been pushed past their limits by fear and unease. It was a childish - no, it was the agonized wailing of men who had been reduced to children. The ones who wept were the Imperial knights. He heard people beg “just run away.” That was the prayer of the knights who had - with eyes full of pity - watched that hideous carnage swallow up their fellow human beings. So wretched was this tragedy that even the enemies of the Royal Army, the Imperial knights, offered up prayers for them. They prayed that at least some would survive. The more, the better. They had come here to kill the enemy. However, no human being could remain unmoved and not feel pity when they witnessed the massacre taking place in front of them. Anyone who could remain unmoved would be a fiend with a man’s face, an inhuman being. In addition, Nimble and the knights realized that this could not be dismissed as a matter of “us vs them.” Certainly, from the point of view of the Kingdom against the Empire, this disaster was happening to “them.” But when you looked at it from the perspective of men against monsters, this brutal slaughter was happening to “us.” ~ lmao no wonder they ran tf away when one of the goats approached them imagine giving PTSD to your own "allies" to assert dominance lol

When Demiurge went out in the kingdom after dealing with the Tuare issue after receiving Ainz's permission he met the princess and recruited her. Thats why climb was spared in both cases when Shaltear went after Brain in the kingdom during Season 2 and now in this massacre.

to give a summary, the spell Ainz cast was 'Iä Shub-Niggurath' which is a reference to H.P. Lovecraft's cosmic deity Shub-Niggurath, the goat with a thousand young. This spell would summon the dark young (lvl 90), the young of shub-niggurath, and the amount summoned is relative to the amount sacrificed. in the light novel, the dark young were depicted as 10m tall, unbelievably fast, highly intelligent and highly resilient. To further elaborate upon their speed, their legs would move so fast that if you were caught under one you would be instantly reduced to a pulpy red mess and a fine blood mist. This meant that everyone who died, died painlessly and that the katze plains became mud made out of blood and dirt.

In the light novel, the "SPLAT!" Comment actually took up a couple pages. Just 3 pages of repeated "SPLAT". But the goats were Overkill, being level 90 summons from the mother goat, which is a referance to a Lovecraft deity, like Cthulu. So basically it was 200k level 5 soldiers vs 5 level 90 summons. The goats were so overpowered that the soldiers were nit even on their radar because the baby goats didnt actually attack (their tentacles are the main attack) they just walked and squashed the entire army

the baby goats are the favorite childrens of Shub-Niggurath, the dark god/godess of Fertility. Shub-Niggurath is an Elder God from the Chtulhu mythos and is the genitor of Chtulhu himself. Not much is knowed about that Elder God, since it is only mentioned a few times in passages of the Necronomicon in one or two of the novels.

When the empire's general asked Ainz "Are you a demon", he was just correcting him, "I am an undead, not a demon". Like don't confuse your monster types. Also in the novel, at the end of the battle Mare, who is seen wearing a couple of different colored gauntlets. This gauntlet absorbs all of the experience from the dead. However from the side, the General thinks that Mare is absorbing the souls of the dead, which kinda terrifies him.

There is theories about who the 4 people that were to be spared were, As far as what most people think, for sure Climb and Gazef. Climb because of Renner's protection (remember, in season two he was the only one to be avoided on Demi's plans, which coincides with Renner learning about Nazarick) and Gazef because Ainz wanted to recruit him. The other 2 personally I think the KIng, so there could be negotiations and Marquis Raeven, once again because he is a part of Renner's plans.

Well, if you want more. this army was 240k man. In the novel it is stated that kingdom has a population of around 10 milion people (around that)... It is also stated that only around 40000 survived. This man literaly killed around 2% of kingdom population, which cosed huge food shorteges becourse there was nobody to do the farming. (granted this situation lasted only a year but it most likly still coused a lot of additional deaths). And he coused this by himself, with a spell that he can use like 6 times every hour. (sorry for my english)

Shub-Niggurath is one of the Elder Gods from the Chtulhu mythos from HP Lovecraft. Iirc Shub-Niggurath is the Dark God/Goddess of Fertility and Mutations, She's litteraly the Mother of Monsters, and i also think she's the One who birthed Chtulhu. The Baby Goats are his/her favorite childrens, depicted as gigantic masses of mouths and teeths with tentacles that from a distance make it look like a whole forest is moving if there's enough of them, and they make Goats sounds. Chtulhu mythos is wide spread cause even in the 30's Lovecraft knew that the only viable way to make a fiction work nearly immortal and timeless was through Fandom, the fans and other artists would make the world and creatures he created live on even years after his death and they would expand his universe in ways he would have not imagined. So for a long long long time the Cthulhu Mythos (not the novels themselfs, but the Universe around them) was open license, so that anyone could expand and make the universe he created live on. So this is why the Chtulhu mythos can be found in a lot of other universes and works. The Old Gods in Warcraft/WoW are more or less a direct inspiritation of it. In D&D the Great Old Ones, Cthulhu included can be present in the lore, Warlocks, one of the player classes can have Pacts with them. And more or less, anytime in a fiction about Scyfy or fantasy, if there's a "Old God" of the Stars and the Void, that has tentacles, you can be sure that it is a Chtulhu inspired entity.

I believe its more like 43. 10 levels over the death knights but still plenty strong for the new world. If they were lvl 60 they would be stronger than some of the maids
