Never been a fan of the cafe racer style seat. I prefer the bobber saddle or even the padded "tractor" style seat. That being said, the seat you fabed for this bike is gorgeous and doesn't look like you'd slide off the back on a hard launch. As for the whole build... Who knew there was a beautiful bike under all that plastic. Your ability to "start with a rock and remove everything that isn't sculpture" never ceases to amaze me. I am so glad you did that collab with the Bearded Mechanic, how I found your channel. I have been thoroughly enjoying going thru all of your old videos.

Such a great build mate! Film work was also great. I've been slowly customising a CX500 and this will be a go-to vid to see some perfect inspiration. Can I ask?....what is the tank from? and the handlebar controls? ( I love the twin headlights, I'm doing that myself in a slightly different way) You should have Ads on this vid. You deserve to monetise such great workmanship and inspiration. (just not too many....lol) Greetings from 'Built in Bondi', Australia.

Hey Marc thank you! For all of the modifications you can actually see the full build playlist as I document each step as I go. I have a much higher-tier CX500 build playlist on here as well as yet another CX500 scrambler playlist. The tank on this bike is totally stock. For ads, you would have had to see/skip two before it started, then maybe 1 or two during the video. I placed 4 potential ad breaks but most don't need to see them all. I do not overload my videos with ads but they are there.

I've written before, and you have always been gracious in answering. I am doing a CX650 as a bobber. I will be doing the x21 system from you as well as the rectifier and solenoid. I need coils and a starter. They all failed the tests. What do you recommend? Also, I saw you put Mikuni carbs on another build. What would you recommend for my CX? Mine are damaged. I'm not at all experienced in aluminum welding and barely so in steel, so what intake manifolds do you recommend? I like the tank on the GL, so I'll try to find one. Once I start on the wiring, I'm sure I'll have more questions. My biggest wiring issue is I am color blind in certain colors, so what looks violet to me may be blue or light blue to everyone else. I know Im missing stuff, so please be willing to answer questions as you always have. Thank you for the work you do and being an inspiration to tackle my project on my own.

Hey Donald why don't you just shoot me an email and we can get more in depth on what your plans and concerns are. Much easier than in comments

Great video. Great build. Only thing I would change is go with powdercoating over rattle can paint for frame and swingarm.
@BrickHouseBuilds2 жыл бұрын
Thank you John. FYI the paint did come from a can but is professional level stuff with a 2k hardener making it very strong. This is a customer bike as well so everyone has a different budget. Check out the white CX500 build for top tier parts and practices as it is 10x the level of this.
