Finally, a proper presentation about clay brick installation. You saved me a lot of trouble. Having watched dozens' of other brick paver installation videos, I would have done it wrong had I not seen this one and the companion video about sanding.

This is NOT a proper installation.

Thankyou sir. I for one realize that you do it perfectly the first time 97.6 percent of the time. Correcting and adjusting is an important skill to have for when you unintentionally hire any of the know it alls in the comments.

little tip for your soldier/edging course. When we would install the border bricks whether they be a soldier or other pattern, first lay your main pavers/bricks up to the and past the point of where the edging starts. Next lay the edging pavers/soldiers over the top of the main in field pavers below. Then align with a string line if it needs to be a straight cut, where you want them to sit. Next take your petrol cut off saw and gently score the pavers below by running the blade against the edging pavers. Remove the edging pavers out the way and following the score you just, made complete the cut all the way through the in field pavers below. Remove all the waste/off cuts and install the edging pavers. This will save you time by marking with a pencil/crayon, save you changing/swapping the bond, allow for "slither" cuts, no need to remove the pavers to be cut and take them to where you are cutting, no need to relay the cuts, provides a perfect finish every time. Works especially well on a radius cut also. No slightly miss measured or too small cuts.

Why is it every building job or building tutorial on youtube you get all the experts commenting...you get it on Bricklaying videos, this and joinery ones......I think men feel they have to prove they are men by criticising other people's work and methods whether they are good or bad.

@georgeharvey43044 жыл бұрын
@@RawBogan Over complicated unless you don't care if it looks right. These novice comments come from guys that just throw down the pavers, make sure everything is covered and call it a day. If you want your bond lines straight and square this is the way to do it. Evidently these commenters do not care about straight and square bond lines. I'm glad your not laying my pavers.

drop the dead donkey - no worries. I’m looking into doing some paver work around my house and it’s a bit more involved than I had assumed. Which means that your industry is not as recognized as it should be. It’s a tradesman skill and I see now why it’s so expensive.

I'm sorry but I don't normally slate a video, as there are many ways to do a job but I have stopped this at 15:14 and won't watch the end of the video. The title says Proper Installation of Clay Pavers, This has too many fundamental mistakes in it, that the title is incorrect! It should say how to fix paving mistakes.

After all measurements and chalk lines he let the pavers get out 1 one and half inche of the square so what is the point if you don't follow the chalk line!? I have 18 years on the pavers industry and really makes me drive crazy how someone can't follow a simple proceed. How hard is follow the chalk line!? OMG!
@cecileisaacs39592 жыл бұрын
It was laid out of square on purpose so they could show the correction. Didn't you listen?
@ampatau90926 жыл бұрын
If you lay off a string line to start with then you have straight lines...If you lay freehand 'Pyramid' style as shown you will make a freaking crap job unless you constantly straighten as you lay. Which is a waste of time and effort. The lines in this paving shown are as straight as a dog's hind leg. Remember...those that can, do. Those that can't, teach...lol
@thesillypig7853 жыл бұрын
Damn you made things difficult with all the measuring and shit. First, lay your soldier course along the curb. If the curb isn't straight, just use a simple cord and lay the pavers along that cord. Now you got a straight soldier course to lay your pavers against. Just start laying and from time to time look if your lines are straight. Your methods are taking way too much time.
