Good vid as always mate. My view of it being on and off sites and mostly doing private work is that site work isn’t something that many of us necessarily like but it can fill gaps over the winter where most private clients don’t want builders around. Some sites are better than others but generally the site agents and safety stooges are loathsome cretins and are easy to fall out with. Private work hinges on the clients for me, I’ll happily take a more awkward job on if I know they’re good customers to work for. We’ve all had the ones who are a nightmare. Private work is generally a bit more stressful but the perks and freedom of it all make it preferable to site work for me. Plus the atmosphere on private jobs is more relaxed and enjoyable.
@evocartiАй бұрын
I was speaking to some trowels last week and the general agreement was that over September/October it's time to go back on site and settle there to see out the winter. The latest you want to leave it is October when the gates start closing on potential new starts on site in London. I hate site work with a fucking passion but, as we all know, site work can keep you fed through the cold months.

Oh 100% I agree. Luckily I am mates with someone who has got involved with a big developer, hopefully he can keep us going up until Xmas, we have about 5 weeks until that starts but you’re right as if it runs out mid November we could be phoning around

Adam I'm the same I'm private all the way mate Gives me nightmares even thinking about going on a site for a poxy £250 a shift It's looking good I don't carry nothing up the ladder any more I bought electric winch made purely to go on to scaffold from screw fix The winch is small compact good for 600 kg you got to buy the arm separate which bolts to the scaff Screwfix product code winch 72809 Arm 2240R Whole lot about £230 but you'll be taking up a tub of muck and 30 40 bricks at a time I use the 1 ton building sacks I've lifted 350 kg RSJ in to place Don't buy the smaller winch it maxes out to early Your stands look great Are you still using wood muck boards If you are and if you can upgrade to plastic you will never look back That creamy mix will stay creamy to the last brick Happy days mate

They sound incredible, I’m going to check them out right now, that’ll make life well easy! £250 on site if you’re lucky! The thought of going back on is a killer, I know it’s going to happen at some point I just don’t know when 😂🙏🏻 hopefully no time soon. Yes mate we are still on the wooden spit boards, I’ve been looking at the plastic spot boards, they look the bollox. Will be banging in the summer. Thanks for the message Davey
