Personally, I would have put an expansion joint in where the tree is because if it's going to go and it will go it will not take the new built section,and one more thing did you put ties in where you married in at the tree end as iam sure you have to have a minimum brick perp not sure the size but it was 60mm not sure if it's changed,overall not a bad build,have a good week my mate😊
@AdamHatch10 күн бұрын
The problem with the expansion joint is one wall is going to be plumb the other sticking out about 100mm 😂🤷🏼♂️ would be correct but also look shit, I kind of with I did do that though, grind a plumb line and go for it, this way blends in nicely, just a shame there’s the bloody tree there

The thing that people disregard is the margins are so low these days for tradesmen they cannot do a thorough job .... because if they do they'll come out with 70 quid a day
@AdamHatch10 күн бұрын
Yeah that’s a fair point to be fair, the margins shouldn’t be that low.

whats foundation like and why did it topple, probably quicker to strip back and redo than trying yo make good 😊
@AdamHatch10 күн бұрын
Foundation was good, I think it toppled due to just age and ivy had grown all through it, a long with routes, the whole thing needed to be done but I think the people on the flats all had to chip in so didn’t want to go over board

Take the wall down past the tree then take the tree down then put a peer up the existing wall to stablise it and pull off of the peer with the new wall and dont forget expansion joints
