Bit short them brackets. The BT engineering stuff are longer and helps steady the profile. If you use full threads screws it’ll hold the clamps tight to the wood secure. The nails which is in the sterling will pull out

They do a timber top clamp which is longer, I've got some of these gallows and also some block attachments for them so are multi purpose. Plus I sometimes just use it as a right angle bracket. I screw mine in aswell, much better hold, an easier to get out!

The point is I don't want to have to carry screws and a screw driver around, I have the proper top clamps but I hate carrying them around, gallows brackets do the job just fine

We use them in oz mate call them hockey sticks screw them on and screw our ties on much quicker and stronger job very handy bit off kit and it’s just a straight bar for internal clamps,

Them clamps look shit but I’ve never done timber frame houses so never seen them
