Hello. Thank you for video. I have tree entrances to the kitchen and I want to block one of them, external. My problem is not how brick it up, but what premissions do I need and who should I contact? I can brick up the doorway myself.

I enjoyed watching this. Is there any reason why someone would use bricks over blocks for an internal wall. Looking at blocking up a doorway between two rooms.

Great vid thanks. Why did you have 2 courses of damp? And why did you not use blocks for all courses? DIYer here just interested

🤔 Just laying them. Probably 15-20 minutes. Getting the blocks, knocking up a mix, cutting the blocks... I'll make that last all day 😂😂

It takes as long as you the profesional wants it to take they are paying for for your skills i dont get why trades are getting obsessed with speed, haw many layed in a day, howmany walls plastered even window cleaners are at it how many they clean a day. Whats happend to thinking about the quality of the work instead how fast it gets done on sites yes were paid x amount per thou which there are gangs out there throwing them in and prob making a killing doing it but the pictures that float between trade pages makes it seem quality is suffering. Anyway rant over keep up the good work kieren 👍

Why did you put a layer of bricks down first before using the blocks? Totally clueless and have an exterior doorway to brick up in the next couple of days after finding the previous owners had just covered a door over with plasterboard. Not acceptable as an exterior wall! Lol.
@ConstructionwithKieren3 жыл бұрын
No defiantly not lol! I put courses of brick down so I could put some dpc on them! I put dpc on the floor and then a course up aswell just as a precaution. Aslong as you have dpc at the bottom you should be fine😬 thanks!

I'm in the same boat, clueless and in trouble. Plasterboard over a door is whack! I hate playing blue's clues with previous owner mistakes 😅 mine played Jenga in the attic with rafters and trusses

Tooth out brickwork first, take door off, wall starter kits, DPC block work, knock you’re own mix up, cut all blocks prior. 2 and half hours All blocks cut ready and mix all ready to go, 20minutes
