I find the only problem with Londons is the amount of chipped bricks you get in a pack

Dude … that DPM needs to be right up to the edge of the brickwork. The reason I’m watching is because I’ve started repointing a house because the lead underneath the coping was an inch away from the edge. Also had to go redo a parapet because we-laid the damp 5mm back from the face. Caused a lot of damage inside the house.

er, shouldnt they be once weathered (slope on one side.. thinnest part facing inwards to the roof)) as its a parapet roof as opposed to a garden wall.

Quick one mate, that is a DPC you put down before coping correct? I've got to do a repair and thought of putting that down first on the parapet wall before laying coping stone.

quick question ..... how would you run central heating pipes to radiators or electric cables if the floor is now solid concrete and walls are solid brick?

Insulation should be staggered, and any gaps between the boards should be filled with expending foam

I'm not at all confident that thermalite is a suitable material for building a house/building on top off. It is lightweigh and has little compressive strength. I am amazed that it seems to have approval for this task. They may have run 'tests' on it but how will it perform in 30 years, 50 years time ? You cananot test for time and material changes. They are a good idea in terms of convenience and speed, but I would have thought a 3kn block would be more suitable.

Why do people install the insulation under the concrete slab and some insulate above the concrete slab ?

There's always a close enough brick color and texture match if you shop around enough to find it. Why bother? Because the best brick repair doesn't look like a repair and the customer is always happier with a match that's at least close.

Very interresting to see, thanks! I have a little job like this coming up on my own house - a 3,5 meter beam, that needs to be changed. I plan on doing it myself even though im not a bricklayer. So wish me luck :)

Cavity tray and DPC missing. Besides that how have you stopped the thermal bridge? Think this is a materclass on how not to do it. But it does look like a nice finish. Shame the important bits you don't see are missing

Good to see the use of priming slurry, as many don’t bother and risk cobbles or pavers working loose in time.

Hi Kieran. Can you put the platform on the very top section of the tower? Would this be a risky thing to do? If I need to reach my roof which is about 5m in height, what type of tower should I go for? 6m, 7m?

always put horizontals( reds)on the upright then you can set it up without worrying that it will fall over ..why do you not use the ladder provided.this is all wrong.how you haven't hurt yourself . you should take this down.this is how not to set up a tower.

Doesn’t the steel need a cavity tray?! With weep holes? To be packed with slate and sit on padstones not brick with 150mm bearings?
