Just a bit of advice from a grp flat roof specialist, you should never double apply the top coat unless 1st coat has only been on less than 24hours. Can pretty much guarantee that topcoat will crack in acouple of years

And my face is white! I was using one of them old school steel H frame scaffolds. Vintage heavy bastards. It’s been like doing PE in an oven. Thanks Stu. Boss job that. Get an impact driver for them big Screws. Best thing in the world them. It won’t frig your elbow up. As it rocks back and forth until it’s in. . Rather than just go full power and twist your arm off. Some fucker nicked mine last week. 😫

Is the train from the northern historic line? Rawtenstall to heywood? They run steam trains on that line on a weekly basis. I see them all the time. They even do Thomas the tank engine days for people with children for a day out, worth a visit for anyone with young children who love trains, highly recommended 👌😉 bit off subject hey useless info for anyone that interested lol

What’s the ‘U’ value of the skylights Stu? I’m building a loft conversion with a dormer window and already had problems with building control. We told them it was having a rubber membrane and they where fine with that but in second visit a different guy said he wanted fire retardant rubber, it was already bought and about to install it when he was there so had to abort and buy FR rubber. He also looked at the cutout for the skylight and insists on the skylight being 0.18 ‘U’ Value. I’ve looked around and can only get as low as 0.6 ‘U’ Value with triple glazing. Looking good Stu.

How did you get on with this Garry? I was looking at the u-values for roof lights earlier and from what I could gather it was 1.6W. I get a bit of brain fog when I start reading through building regs.

With a flat roof extension like this one, can you walk on the roof after it is built? Reason Im asking is for access to gutters etc in the future, would it be safe to go up there and use a ladder or once built would walking on it reduce its life?

Hi STU, great video. We are going to do the GRP fibre glass roof on our garage. Can you please share the names of the products, you used. It seems that you didn't leave any gap between the osb board and wall. So is it not required if using osb t & g board. PS: I have been suggested using ply and Cure It resin. I saw your comment that why ply isn't advised, so we will go with OSB 3 T&G boards. If you can share the name of the Resin, Topcoat and Catalyst, that would be great. Cheers
